Oddly enough, I think I'm beginning to enjoy Elvis swearing!I was in a not-good mood
over the weekend, and listening to him swear really made me feel better!
I think the x-rated version of 'Hurt' is the most human side of Elvis ever recorded. We all know by now how much the divorce changed his life and was always on his mind while recording.
Pain, hurt and anger are very related emotions. I don't see this version as a fun gimmick, but a very intimate view into Elvis' troubled soul at that time.

No, I do not think Elvis was a troubled man - the world around him was / is. I can understand Elvis' feelings very well.
I'm sorry, but I haven't got any reason to be more optimistic. Life is like having sex; it's a long, arduous, painstaking task that seems to go on and on forever, and the moment you think things are going your way, nothing happens!
Just my opinion![]()
What about Only the strong survive on the Classic bootleg...American crown jewels...Dear georgie.....lol fantastic!!
I have the X-rated versions and I like them. Sometimes they are funny and sometimes they show that Elvis was a human being with feelings. I got goosebumps when Elvis got angry in a show, because some one of the Hilton had said that he had taken an overdose. While in fact he was in bed with a severe flue. Man was he angry and pissed off! He started calm but his voice changed in a creepy way when he was telling about the gosip that was spread. Then, at the end his voice changed again and he said calmly: do you know Blue Hawaii? I have to get out of this mood.
Be safe and take care,

Christel, yeah, it was almost funny how quickly he changed gears at the end of that rant.
...you won't forget me when I go.
