UK TV - Elvis Week

Absolutely Nothing.

Nothing on here either, but one thing I am grateful for is that on one of our morning shows, they did mention the fact that it is 28 years ago that we lost Elvis and instead of playing that June 1977 clip of Unchained Melody, they played something from the '68 Special.......

Apart from the films on TCM I thought there might be a bit more, Especially from ITV as they have shown 68 Special, Elvis by the Presleys and Kid Galahad not that long ago this year. ITV3 is Granada Plus everything owned by the same people and G-Plus would occasionally show - GI Blues, King Creole, Girls Girls Girls, Fun In Acapulco and Paradise-Hawaiian Style (though not certain on that 1)
Sky Movies have Clambake andwhich there showing but there not showing Love Me Tender, Wild In The Country and Charro some of his best movies.
Last year Paramount had Blue Hawaii on there TV guide listings but they showed some american sitcoms
The usual things on Biography Channel

Over all could of done alot better, at least TCM are showing something.

Absolutely nothing - but on Saturday 20th ON ITV 1 there is a program called ELVIS MANIA - . THIS will be crap. . usually the tv networks show some programs on Elvis EVEN IF THEY ARE LATE AT NIGHT . Over the past few years i have seen

On Dutch television we have the: Aloha From Hawaii (don't know if this is new edition) and girls, girls, girls (on veronica) that's all there is on all 9 dutch channels! Only the dutch 2 channel had a news item this morning about Elvis. On RTL4, 5, 7 there will be a news section about Elvis. And i have to go working tonight, so not much remembering for me this year, but playing elvis music till the time i have to go!! playing all the singles from the 70's right now.

Rest in peace Elvis! you'll be never forgotten.

Yep ... what a shame the UK Channels couldnt be bothered ... but i did read on the web that UK planned to show the new 1HR Special version of

Aloha .... like they have with EBTP + 68 Special guess not hmm !

There all on saturday night I don't see why there not on today, They don't have there main ratings winner Coronation Street on today so why not put them on from 7.30pm. According to the information given on TV guide the first and 'Elvis Mania' and 'Elvis Forever' are just elvis songs covered by other artists -
Elvis Mania - Peter Andre,G4,Katherine Jenkins,Mica Paris,Tony Hadley, Russell Watson and the Bad Girls cast
Elvis Forever - Pet Shop Boys, Fine Young Cannibals, ZZ Top, Alison Moyet and UB40

Why not just show the '68 Special they shown the other month instead of Celebrity Z-list Elvis Karaoke ?

So, "Elvis By The Presleys" is getting a repeat showing already - that's cool!

I can't see why they can't screen the new 1 hour "Aloha From Hawaii"?

Oh well at least ITV1 are trying to make amends for today's lack of Elvis entertainment and tributes.

Here in M?xico media dedicated a little bit more atention to Elvis than past year. On TV, some "news" programs presented special notes (like bio and stuff like that). On the radio was broadcasted a two-hours program with Elvis music. Newspaper, at least two very important ones in Mexico city, displayed interesting info' and cool pictures.

The Forever For Elvis Fan Club (president) also wrote a note in one of those newspapers. We prepared some events here in my country for all Elvis fans that wanted to come. We watched movies and have a special reunion.

Quite long message about Elvis in Mexico... I'm sorry, can't help telling you how things are here. I'm so proud of being an Elvis fan!

well on Sat. 20th august , i believe that they are going to be screening on ITV 1.- the following shows , to commemorate the passing of the King . It kicks off at 09.10 pm with ELVIS MANIA AND afetr that they will show the 2 HOUR SPECIAL OF - BY THE PRESLEYS .AT 10.10PM . AND AFTER THAT THERE IS - ELVIS FOREVER - WITH UB 40 , JERRY SPRINGER ETC .
I WILL ONLY BE INTERESTED IN BY THE PRESLEYS AND I WILL WATCH THGIS AND SEE WHAT THE OTHERS ARE ABOUT .- I WILL PERHAPS MISS ELVIS MANIA BECAUSE THIS IS ALL ABOUT TRIBUTE SONGS BY GIRLS ALOUD, AND GENERAL SO CALLED POP STARS .WHAT A CRAP LINE UP/ PROGRAM -.-
I WILL DEF. WATCH BY THE PRESLEYS - THATS FOR SURE - AND PERHAPS ELVIS FOREVER IF THIS HAS GOT ANY FOOTAGE OF ELVIS .

If so, then that will be good as they screened only a 1-hour edit first time round back in May.
