It's Coming..."THE MAKING OF 'ELVIS ON TOUR'" DVD!!!

    Hey Guys,

Just heard from a couple of sources that a special 2-hour DVD release is to happen this autumn...it's name?...."THE MAKING OF ELVIS ON TOUR"!!!

Yes, it's true!....It is also, possibly a Bootleg?!

And, guess what? this possible 'bootleg' is being sold through the Official Elvis Presley Fan Club of Great Britain!...something 'Official' is taking orders for something 'Unofficial'...uhh?!

Apparently, the DVD content will comprise of previously UNSEEN footage of Elvis in rehearsals, off stage, on stage, in the studio and on the road - all shot during the making of "On Tour" but never used in the actual movie!!!

Now, all your orders must be received by 1st September, 2005 due for the shipping of the DVD in the first week in October. The price of this DVD release is ?20.00 including shipping.....oh, yes....plus the amount of money to join the Fan Club....so if you're not a member then....well...er....you can't buy it!

    Thoughts and statements please guys!

    Cheers,

    NEA.

P.S. Just had a thought guys...it could be a similar release to the Elvis Unlimited DVD/Video "Return To Splendour" which is very well done and a great addition to any fan's collection to own all that wonderful fan footage. It's just as this time you must join the club to purchase this item...Finally, I get the impression that this "On Tour" project will not have any sound apart from a narrator?...just like "Return To Splendour".

    Updated

    Hi Lonnie,

Yes, I will keep you all updated....I will make a quick phonecall next week regarding this matter, and if the phonecall's information is rather feasible, and the price is right, then I can imagine me actually re-joining the Fan Club after a slight hietus.

If the DVD's material is up to the standard and presentation of "Return To Splendour" then I would really like a copy of this for my collection.

    Cheers,

    NEA.

P.S. Thank you Patrick for you have whetted my appetite even more...I reckon the picture quality will possibly be pretty good...at least as good if not better in some cases when compared to "Return To Splendour"...."On Tour" was filmed by MGM afterall.

Last year the UK fan club offered copies of On Tour form Pakistan. The quality left a lot to be desired , it was like watching a normal video copy. I hope this new offering is much better.

    Ebay!

Apparently copies of "The Making of Elvis On Tour" have now found their way onto Ebay for around $40.00!

Question is, will it be worth joining the Official Elvis Fan Club of Great Britain in order to purchase this DVD and what kind of quality will the copy they are offering for ?20 be like - better...worse....or very much the same?

    Hmmm.....

    Ridiculous!

Yeah, I thought it was as much as this - it just about ties in with the way a couple of these UK Elvis Organisations conduct their business....something tells me that the membership numbers have dropped for the Great British Fan Club!?

I can't see how though - Elvis is more popular now than ever, especially after the recent chart successes in every field.

So, it's costing about ?35.00 to purchase this DVD - if you're lucky you might be able to secure that lucky ?25.00 bid on Ebay....

Jeez...I just don't know what to do....what are you lot gonna do?

If it's a Triangle release, than why will it be for sale only through the UK fanclub? That doesn't make sense..... And a MGM/fanclub project simply seems impossible...

Nonetheless, every promised dvd release containing On Tour material interests me

Yes, I know what you mean Albert....infact, I think this particular topic deserves a thread all its own, so as a follow-up I have started one entitled "Fan Club Scam".

The stories about this Triangle release seem to be true, I've also read about it.

But my guess is, with all this material popping up (TTWII & On Tour) it's more than likely that an official release with part of this material will follow in time.

But it seems that a lot of the material that has surfaced is without sound. So let's hope that the people releasing this footage will also take care of the necessary dubbing.
