Did Elvis really regret that he lost Priscilla?

Were does it say that Elvis promised to "marry" Priscilla eventually. I have not read that. I believe he promised to take good care of her and treat her well and make sure she finish her education.

Also, Elvis talked her father into letting her come only after, Priscilla begged Elvis to do so. And after Anita Wood left.

I believe Elvis was infatuated with her,,,just like he was with soo many others. And he wanted a women at home. (Anita was living at Graceland) So he replaced Anita with Priscilla. But it was for his comfort and entertainment in many ways.

His problem is that he kept her there too long. Untill he married her she was not going to leave, even though he was by all accounts long bored with her. She knew he ran around on her and still wouldn't leave. Funny that all the women say they knew he had others and accepted that was Elvis, but all of them left him and did not marry him.
She wanted to be Mrs. Elvis Presley weather she loved him or not by the time they married. And I don't think they did much. It was a marriage of convience mostly. That is why it was never stable.

I think it has been 'accepted' for so long that Elvis promised he would marry her no one has ever really questioned it. I think probably I first heard that was when Priscilla and her parents said it.....

I do agree though that if Priscilla knew she couldn't put up with that lifestyle she wasn't going to make any 'decisions' about her life with Elvis until they married. Again, whether that was down to her or her parents, who knows. But being the determined individual that she was (she says it herself), she wasnt going to lose face by leaving him before she became Mrs Presley. But there again, perhaps she naiively thought being married WOULD change him and their life. Hard to say.

I know I'm a few years late to this conversation but here goes...
Yes I think Elvis regretted Priscilla but only because she and Lisa Marie were a package deal. I doubt her leaving was a huge suprsie or if it was it just showed out of touch he was with his wife. The stories I've read show Priscilla as a "doll" Elvis paraded around who was submissive to him and his whims. Is that a real "marriage" with an equal partner". I say no but I also think Elvis wasn't looking for a real partner. Like most of the parents I work with ( I'm a family counselor) I think Elvis real regret was more about Lisa marie and the manner in which he lost Priscilla.

But either regardless Elvis rocks and Priscilla ahs done a good job protecting his legacy.

There is no doubt that Elvis was never the same after his divorce. Like Dazed and Confused said, losing Lisa Marie was a killer for him. So yes, for that reason among others, he regretted losing Priscilla.
