When I was about seven years old, I heard ALL SHOOK UP on the radio. And since that day I'm a fan.

I was about 4 years old, summer 1984, Thats The Way It Is was on cable Tv, I was changing chanels ans suddenly I saw this guy on a white suit with fringe flying all around sing: Well Thats All RIght mama, Thats all with you... his huge acoustic guitar and I remember the guitar solo by that other guy with him, never heard something as exiting as that (James Burton) I refused to go to eat, made my mom bring me the dinner to the livingroom, I watched the whole movie without moving my eyes from the screen, don?t remember to have seen and heard to anything before with all that atention...

The first song to remember hearing apart from that was Devil In Disguise.

My big brother was a big Elvis fan during these early 70's, so I heard a few before, never realising who it was or whatever to make of it..(I was only 5 years old don't blame me) But at that same age I was sitting in front of the TV once and watching ALOHA in 1973 or maybe in Holland it went on later i don't know, but this guy and his music, took my little soul wrapped it in gold sprinkled some music stardust into my eyes and I never lost it...He was so fantasy-like like a super hero....man that guy was something different!

My Mother had the "Moody Blue" album, and my first memory is standing in front of the stereo listening to "Way Down". This was a few years after Elvis died. I was born in 1978.

When I was little, I had a friend whose father had a miniature figurine of Elvis and it played one verse and a chorus of Blue Suede Shoes when you pressed its base. I think that's the first time I was conscious of a particular Elvis song, although I was already familiar with who he was.

I remember my parents playing "Suspicious Minds" when I was very small. It had just been released on vinyl and was popular. They had one of those stereo consoles - big bulky piece of furniture and they owned the 2 LP's from the Memphis sessions.

Well, I think I was 6-7 years old when I heard "Love Me Tender" on my daddy's tape-player and recorder, which was a TESLA B43 and it looked like this:

    Anyways it still can work.

Your Time Hasn't Come Yet, Baby.

But the first song that stayed with me was Memories from the 68 comeback special.

Milton Berle show June 1956. We were invited over to a friend's house for pizza. First time I ever tasted pizza or saw ELVIS...tasty evening. We were all watching Uncle Milty on a black and white TV. ELVIS did "Hound Dog" and "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You". Parents were shaking their heads at "Hound Dog". I was a little girl..... but the cute guy hooked me with "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You." I've been hooked since then....Seeing ELVIS on the big screen singing "Love Me Tender" a few months later confirmed it. I was a GONNER for THIS GUY.I thought he was the dreamiest and sweetest guy I ever laid eyes on! I still feel that way.

I will never forget you Rosanne.

No idea what the first Elvis song I heard was.

But the first one I remembered all the words to was Blue Suede Shoes.

In fact, I have an old reel-to-reel audiotape of me singing it with/to my father when I was two years old in '69.

And the second song I learned all the words to was, of all things ... Do The Clam.
