July 5th, 1954: Elvis & the 'Blue Moon' Boys experienced a tough few hours of graft in the Sun Recording Studio in Memphis...it took them a while to insert the right notes and strike the right chord - they new they finally had when Sam Phillips came running into the studio yelling: "Do it again! Do it again!"...They got there in the end.

July 5th, 2004: The 50th Anniversary of the Birth of Rock 'n' Roll - The Global Moment In Time was the combination of a number of Radio Stations worldwide playing the culture-changing "That's Allright Mama" in unison...I think it was BBC Radio Nottingham in the UK who decided to play "It's Now Or Never" instead?!...They got there in the end.

It was also this week in 2004 that the Number 3 spot in the British Charts was occupied by 'The King' with, what else, but "That's Allright Mama"...after 50 years it was finally awarded a gold disc...They got there in the end.

Finally, it was also this week in 2004 that the long-awaited Deluxe Edition DVDs of the '1968 Comeback Special' and 'Aloha From Hawaii' were released in the UK which also coincided with the special anniversary...The 'Aloha From Hawaii' DVD was an 'error' disc...But...They got there in the end.

It's the 51st Anniversary of the Birth of Rock 'n' Roll as we know it - keep the faith people!
