    Favorite Elvis Album Cover

    Hi Everybody

Mine is Girl Happy as I got that as My first ever LP way Back when I was 13 Years Young and it is still Today My Favourite - I have had it Framed in Glass and it is Visible form the back as well complete with the LP. Elvis to Me at that age here in South Afirca was a first ever and the biggest discovery ever and since grown to My best and biggest hobby I saw it still sealed lying on a dining room table at My Uncle (My Late Fathers Brother) and still asked Him who is that and how does He sound like - He opened it and played it and I fell in Love with the Voice immediatly and tried every trick in the book to get it from Him but No Luck - I got My Brand New Sealed Girl Happy complete with a POSTER also Framed from Him 3 weeks later for My Birthday.

    Best Wishes

    Andr? (ElvisFanSA)

Off the top of my head ... a quick selection:

    For pure nostalgic reasons alone:

    - "I Got Lucky" (Camden-Pickwick vinyl)

    - "Double Dynamite" (CP vinyl) / Same for "Elvis As Recorded At Madison Square Garden" (RCA)

    - "Elvis In Concert" (including gatefold artwork) (Original RCA vinyl)

    - "Elvis As Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis" (RCA)

    - "Moody Blue" (Original RCA vinyl) (The CD cover re-make sucked).

    ------------------

    All-time bootleg favorites:

    - Pearl Harbor Show (Golden Archives Label - Stunning package all-around - original vinyl a classic / have never seen better, then or now). (Also have personal reasons for liking this package.)

    - "68 Comeback" (Golden Archives Vinyl)

    - "Stranger In My Own Hometown" (Denmark) (Beautiful concept, oustandingly executed).

    - "Celluloid Rock, Vol.'s #1 & #2 Boxcovers (Vol. #1 is particularly ironic, funny, & very fitting).

    - "Songs To Sing" (Nice concept & cover goes well with content. Also have personal reasons for liking this one. Actual CD disc artwork also a nice touch)

    - "Rockin' With Elvis New Years Eve - 1976" (Original boot vinyl package, espcially gatefold & back artwork)

    ------------------------

....... and all of this from a simple "fan" not really into "Artwork" .........

    favorite cover is

well that`s a hard one. it is very strange but my favorite cover is and always has been the you`ll never walk alone camden cover. And here at the club for at least more than 10 years this cover was voted the best cover of the 70`s. why...maybe because there is no over charge with titles in the front and maybe the color and the suit..but like my old friend joan deary once said when she came in montreal a few times in our convention..you`ll never walk alone is a nice and probably the best simple cover of the 70`s and the worst will always be the raised on rock lp cover and i think shw was right for this one. they had 5 different pictures and they put the bad one..have a nice day, bogarcon

These kinds of threads crack me up.

"You'll Never Walk Alone" is "OK" cover-wise, but ....... the "Raised On Rock" album ain't THAT bad either. ...... lol !! ...........

    Simple "tastes" guys, nothing more.

My favourite is "I'm 10.000 Years Old - Elvis - Country". That's one of the covers they really thought about. "Elvis Sings Hits From His Moves - Vol. 1" could have been a favourite if they had used the complete picture instead of that star shaped one.
Another favourite is the "Madison Square Garden" album. I also like "Good Times".

Furthermore a lot of covers don't have an actual picture on the sleeve and that's a pitty.
"Paradise Hawaiian Style" has a picture of "Fun In Acapulco" on the front.
"Today" sucks. Not that I don't like the picture or the album but it's a 1975 album with a 1973 picture so the title "Today" doesn't cover the cargo completely.
The same goes for "Boulevard" and "In Concert" which both contains heavily modified pictures. (Elvis has been made look thinner)
"Separate Ways" could have been a nice cover if they hadn't cut out the picture.

Live On Stage In Memphis was always my favorite, as it was my first Close Up view of Graceland!

    GREAT QUESTION ph10579!!!

Well, I guess one of my favorite covers has always been 50,000,000 ELVIS FANS CAN'T BE WRONG - ELVIS GOLDEN RECORDS, VOL. 2!!! In my opinion, there simply isn't a cooler cover in the entire Elvis catalog than this one!!!

I also like the covers for FROM ELVIS IN MEMPHIS and ELVIS IS BACK!...simple, yet tasteful!!

ELVIS (the soundtrack to the 1968 Comeback Special) is another classic cover...those huge red letters spelling out his name right on the front cover....GREAT!!!

Of course, because I am a 70's Elvis fan, I have to mention 2 of my favorite covers from the 70's -- PROMISED LAND and TODAY!!! Always favorites of mine!!

    TCB!
