Your Thoughts on ELVIS BY THE PRESLEYS Special?

I WATCHED THE TV SPECIAL IN U.K. ON 18TH MAY 05. ON ITV1.
THIS WAS A GREAT PORTRAIT OF THE KING .
IT FEATURED UN RELEASED CLIPS OF ELVIS THAT I HAVE NOT SEEN BEFORE. TODAY I WENT AND PURCHASED THE DVD WHICH WAS SELLING QUICK. ALL THE RETAILERS SOLD THE DVD . THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK BUT LUCKILY I MANAGE D TO GET 1 COPY FROM A RETAILER B4 IT WAS SOLD OUT .THE TV SPECIAL WAS A GREAT PORTRAIT OF HOW ELVIS WAS JUST A FAMILY MAN WHO ADORED HIS WIFE AND LISA . I CANNOT WAIT TO VIEW THE DVD TONIGHT .-
I HAVE BEEN AN ELVIS FAN FOR OVER 20 YEARS NOW AND I THINK THAT THIS PROGRAM WAS A VERY GOOD SHOW .-

hi mike i have to agree with you elvis by the presleys was so very well done i think any elvis fan loves to see him completely relaxed and enjoying life away from the limelight i think everyone concerned with the documentary deserves praise and that includes Priscilla i know there are a good few fans that will disagree with me on that score but i think she is genuine as far as her feelings go for elvis although maybe in the past she made mistakes such as the book elvis and me but think she deserves some praise for her latest offereings :-)

Having just watched the dvd I agree that it was very one-sided with Priscilla mentioning Elvis and other women while at the same time omitting her own affairs. When she was telling the story about her leaving Elvis and he said "are you leaving me for someone else" then it broke into footage of Elvis singing I thought I`ll wait and see if she mentions that she left him for Mike Stone but what a surprise no mention. I felt she was very cruel towards Elvis in the dvd and came across as quite bitter towards him.
The book Child Bride has obviously rattled her somewhat because she had to go over the accusations made in it such as she was a calculating 14 year old and that she told someone she was going to try and meet Elvis presley and that her father put pressure on Col Parker to make Elvis marry her etc.
She is so desperate to be portrayed as the only woman in his life and that he couldn`t live without her and that he was in constant contact with her all the time after the divorce but Linda Thompson said on Larry King Live when asked if she had met Priscilla when she was dating Elvis said that she had met her but she wasn`t on the scene as much as people may think. I know who I believe.
She is happy to take all the credit for making Graceland the success it is today excuse me doesn`t Elvis have a little to do with that.
She obviously loves to be the centre of attention as the home movies show and as for her saying that near the end of his life Elvis must have looked in the mirror and said where am I gonna go with this because he was bloated etc I think she wants to look in the mirror!
There wasn`t really any new footage either just another money making scheme for greedy Priscilla what can she bring out of the woodwork next?
