    My Boy, My Boy!

    Hi Guys,

What do we all think about EP's live versions of 'My Boy' between 1973 and 1975 - don't we think it's one of the very best songs he has ever consistently performed in his stage shows during this time?

Check out the FTD releases 'Closing Night', 'Dixieland Rocks' & 'Big Boss Man' - these performances will knock your socks right off!

The one version of 'My Boy' which is quite significant on these CD releases is the 'Closing Night' version, which was performed approximately 3 months before Elvis went into the studio to cut the song.

To me, this song is well up there in his stage reportoire along with 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and 'American Trilogy'. What do you reckon guys?

My Boy is one of the few songs that Elvis only performed live when he knew he could do it at his very best. Other songs I consider to be on that list are songs like "How Great Thou Art", "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "Unchained Melody".

Either good performed or not performed at all....
