    Forum troubles

The last few day I experienced troubles to get on the forum. Everytime I try I get the message: The server is too busy, try again later.

    Am I the only one?

    Hi Leroy,

I believe that we are all experiencing the same problems (over the last few days) - something that Albert is working on....hope to have it resolved very soon

Thanks! I started to get worry. I do hope Albert is able to solve this problem because this forum's like an addiction. If your not able to view or post a couple of times a day you start to shiver......

    Leroy,

It is indeed a problem that has been noticed, discussed, & will hopefully be rectified - one way or the other - sooner or later.

Must agree, it is very frustrating, especially when trying to "TCB" both on & off the board(s).

Well, fortunately I have multiple boards to work on so that will keep me busy.
Right now I'm in the middle of a heated discussion I started about a year ago about Elvis' "Gold Attendance Belt". I finally did cut the discussion short because I got tired to prove my point to people who could not see the difference between a 1969 shot and a 1970 shot.

Today I put the heat on again after receiving new "evidence" but again I got confrontated with the fact that most fans are looking but not seeing. Frustrating!

    Leroy,

I can definitely relate to what you are saying here.

Generally speaking: some people don't like it (or cannot accept the fact) when others know more / have access to sources they cannot understand or do not / challenge some of their long-held misconceptions about certain things that they may be obsessed with for whatever the reason(s), and otherwise have pieces to the equation that many - if not all, in some cases - do not.

Once it becomes apparent that you are talking to a "wall" ........ just walk away. That said, ....... they will still pop back up years later wanting to continue the "discussion."

    Like I said, ......... I can relate.

You're putting it as straightforward as ever and that's what I like in you. Most people want to look behind the image but what good is it if you're not looking at the image itself first? And the ironic thing is; I understand these people so well because I was one of them once...

I also had trouble with letting go of old opinions and (so called) knowledge that was build upon sandy grounds. I had to learn not to take information for granted and question ev'rything that came my way. Especially when the sources were "reliable" such as The Estate and everyone who has something to gain by working with The Estate. Most people are willing to take their word for granted.

To give you an example; I always believed that the "White Matador" (aka "Red Lion") was a 1972 suit. I saw "On Tour" while I was still fresh in the Elvis World and I always considered these suit as 1972 only. I had a hard time accepting the fact that some of these suit were already used in 1971. Until I started to look with a more keen eye to tiny details such as jewelry, microphones and even extra studds on the suit. From then on I slowely changed my additude towards it. I think that's the secret...

Me, as well, Leroy ........ me, too.

Precisely because I've been in their position & stood in their shoes, ......... I know very well what is at play.

That said, ........ some will still never "get it" ........... & it does indeed become very time consuming & tiring @ times.

My thanks for your words, .......... & contributions (both on & off the MB), ...... and all my best.

It was a malfunction on the message board. You were not the only one who had these troubles. But it has been solved and all is running smoothly as a baby's behind now

Man that FECC board is become a real pain to get into. ... can someone pass the info onto Steve & co ?

Do you guys think it is the "n" number of pictures that has to be loaded often from third party sites that is slowing it down ?

Glad this board is behaving better now.
