    Your Favorite Opening Credits (Movies)

Guys Patrick's post on the remastering of TTWII with the titles got me thinking - which opening credits/ title sequence from Elvis' movies do like or remember the best ?

For me the original TTWII opening sequence always gave me a rush of adrenaline when I first (and everytime) saw it in the movie theaters ! The VHS/DVD is fine too but there was something about seeing it a cinema theater that gave me the shivers!

Second for me is the " Girl Happy" - sequence

Third " Change of Habbit" ... (all in small letters)

I also remember the first E movie I saw in a theater which was " Fun in Acapulco" and " Worlds Fair"...my first movie

    What are yours ?

    Definately TTWII special edition opening!
That Mystery Train/Tiger Man footage just is the coolest...

Before that special TTWII edition was released Elvis On Tour (Johnny B) was my favorite Elvis movie opening scene and it still is a close second!

Yeah Sonny, I like the new version too, but for me -those flashing strobes - has a kind of magic to it that I always remember - that was the first glimpse of the " real" Elvis that I ever saw on the screen ! If this was the Colonels idea, to do the movie then it is possibly one of the few things he did, that I approve !

I wish I could have used the new images with the old coloured lettering ...I inserted the Tiger man sequence from the original movie as also "One night" in my composite version!

I agree with all of you guys... TTWII had the best opening credits... and it is makes you excited just to listen to Mystery Train/ Tiger Man... whoever had the idea to put that song as opening is a genius. ..
My second favourite opening credit is 'Elvis in Hollywood' with E.. song " Anyplace is Paradise '

Jailhouse Rock--how each time a new credit comes up, there's a big crack of the drums--Live A Little Love A Little--it makes me happy, Stay Away Joe--it's really pretty, Double Trouble--very 60's, and Girl Happy--the voice over makes me laugh...

"Elvis In Hollywood" is too cute...especially the little graphic of Elvis driving around Hollywood in the car

I'm sure you'd never think this given my screen name here, but for me the best opening credits of any Elvis movie is by far King Creole! Firstly, King Creole is one of the best Elvis songs ever. Period. On top of that it has to be the Elvis song that leands itself the best to a purely instrumental interpretation. Gotta love it. As far as beautiful scenery goes, though, you can't help but think of Blue Hawaii and Fun In Acapulco. Dont' get me wrong, I appreciate the whole TTWII deal, but to me TTWII and On Tour are difference creatures as they are concert movies not plain ole movie movies so to say. Oh, and one last thought, I love how Elvis is sitting on the back of a moving truck singing at the start of Kid Gallahad without once losing his balance. Once you buy that you can buy his being a champion boxer!

For me, I always loved the opening credits for Viva Las Vegas and Charro, but like many of you, TTWII is my overall favorite - they couldn't have picked a better song!

Boy yeah BBM - Viva las Vegas - now that is another eyecatching opener - but the first time I saw the movie it was in a cinema theater and was badly cut,( due to use, old print -some 10 years after first release) and the titles were missing! that is why I did not mention it.

But the others I mentioned really struck me - like Change of Habbit - not many or infact any movies I had seen till then had the credits all in small letters ... there was a special magic in going to the movies in the 60's ...
