Elvis On Stage feb, 1970 Old vs the new version

I have 2 version of this album of Elvis on stage feb-1970.
the old version and the new version.

the mixs are different between the to albums.

on the new version of the on stage is this.

on cc rider you can here the guitar on the left channel, on the old version is on the right channel.

why they change the channel on the new version, to me it is very wrong for them to do this.

the guitar is and has been on the right channel, when you see photos of james playing his guitar he was allways on the right side.

now when they put him on the right it dont sound same..

have you guys notices this has well.

I haven't noticed that, but I do notice a difference in the sound which isn't necessarily an improvement.

Regarding what you said though--and that's not normally the sort of thing I pay too much attention to--it seems to me that if the musician's position onstage dictates where his instrument will be heard (and you seem to be implying that), then his being on Elvis' left would be consistent with hearing it in the right channel because to the audience, James would be on the right side of the stage.

I prefer the original over the re-release for its mix. I prefer the re-release over the original for its expanded track listing.

It's great to have additional tracks on the "new" On Stage album, but I agree that, allthough the sound quality is perfect, the mixing is poor.
Besides things mentioned, they also edited out audience noices that just added to f.i. the version of Polk Salad Annie.

But I feel a lot of the later RCA/BMG releases seem to have a mixing/editing problem.

Yep, you really miss some of those screams we're used to hearing on that PSA.

    Same here.

the new tracks on the on stage was very nice.
but they should add the bonus tracks at the end of the cd.

and just keep the original album frist the the other goodies.
