Elvis Obituaries From Memphis Papers--Viewable Online?

I know this is kinda morbid being that the 29th anniversary of Elvis's death has just passed but does anyone know if it's possible to view articles online from the Memphis papers from that horrible day in August of 1977?

    Just wonderin'.....

I looked but those sites weren't much help...I'm looking for the actual newspaper articles from The Memphis Commercial Appeal and the (now-defunct) Memphis Press-Scimitar.....

    When Elvis Died

Editorials from the Commercial Appeal and Press-Scimitar are reprinted in a book called When Elvis Died, which you can view online.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/088687663X/

Click on "search inside," then search on the names of the two newspapers (separately). The editorials appear in the first reference shown under "From Back Matter."

However, the book is worth buying if you're interested in media coverage of the King's death - that's what it's all about.

(PS - Amazon has multiple listing pages for the book - you can certainly buy it cheaper than $50!)

I guess this doesn't help you for free, they sell those actual papers reprinted all over Memphis including Graceland and at onetime Shop Elvis.com, and also at that gift shop to the left of the Graceland gates called Boulevard Souvenirs they have a site its ten bucks . So depends how bad you want it .

Usually someone on Ebay is selling them too

I remember the mourners also getting killed by a car while standing out front there somewhere in those few days . I almost thought I imagined that until I see that headline again.
