    Thumbs up

My favorites are the Nashville sessions. (Okay, maybe I'm a little prejudiced since it's my hometown!) Specifically, the 1970 sessions that produced the Country album and That's the Way It Is. I always thought Elvis' voice was tops at that point. I think he sang with a lot more subtelty than the sessions in Memphis the previous year. I'm glad he went to Memphis in '69, cause I think he needed some new blood in his band at that point. The Nashville band around '67 and '68 were beginning to sound a little stale. The Memphis guys definitely added some edge.

I also like the Dec. '73 Stax sessions, and then behind that the American sessions.

I hadn't chimed in yet because it's such a tough question. But I'd have to say the Jungle Room sessions are my favorite with Stax a close second, which explains why my extended Promised Land and Moody Blue CDs get so much play. So I suppose 'Memphis' is my answer.

Nashville: '60-'62. His voice was at it's vocal peak for sheer beauty at this point(imo).

No doubt about it, hands down the session that produced "Elvis Is Back" from 1960! For the most part, as those of you who may know me from another location, my favorite recording period for Elvis is from '60 to '63. But the '69 Memphis stuff comes in virtually tied!

Stax! and The Jungle Room Sessions!

Although I also like the Today Sessions!

I voted for the Memphis session because of the soulfulness in his voice and the brilliance of this session. That being said, it was an extremely tough call.

All Memphis sessions were great, specially the first 3 (SUN, AMERICAN and STAX). The last one in Graceland was a little bit different but it gives to it that special feelin?.

the 75 session and the 69!

well, i would say, 1969 was a very good year for elvis recording sessions (and it was a great year for me too!) but the ``today`` session is still the best by the quality and the overdubbed on each song. This session sound so good because it was recorded for the new quad systems (i had one in the 70`s) so in stereo the sound will always be the best. as for the songs well they are all good but he didn`t recorded enough material like he did in `69.

It's a tough question to answer because every session contains something that make's it worth listening. But on top of my list is the Nashville Session. Over thirty songs in just three days!!! He never topped that again.

    SUCH AN EASY QUESTION...

For reasons which I hope would appear obvious, I have to say that the Jungle Room Sessions are my favorite recording sessions! There were some amazing, introspective recordings created during those sessions that really give fans a good look into Elvis' life and feelings during that period of his life....absolutely beautiful songs that I find myself listening to almost daily!!

A close second would be the TODAY sessions from March '75....those are some GREAT songs, and the TODAY album has always been my FAVORITE album!!!
