It's always hard to lose a pet no matter how long they've been with you. Our Mike Collie/Coyote turned 13 this last December and is starting to fail a bit. We're hoping he has a couple more years. He and our new Laney are the first two mixed Collies we've had. The other 5 were purebreds and they don't seem to live as long.

Here is our new big baby..Laney, 5 month old female Collie/Husky and a handful to say the least!![]()
I started checking the animal shelters on the net withing a 100 mile radius of us about a month ago and found nothing until I saw her picture at a shelter in LaGrange, Indiana which is 107 miles from us. That was a Sunday almost two weeks ago and on Monday I called to see if she was still available as I felt that she was just what I was looking for and so later that morning we headed out and got her. We just made it as she had just been put on the adoption list and another woman had called right after us wanting her too. Laney bounded all over us the minute she saw us and we fell in love instantly and that was that...no doubt that she belongs with us!
That fuzz on her head is what our daughter calls a "pup head" lol. I love it! Both Collie and Husky pups get it so she couldn't miss. I should weigh her as I think she's between 35 and 40 pounds already but then I've always loved big dogs best..."pal dogs"

Great, I loved that post.![]()
Thank you Dany!

I loved all pets, wonderful!
Thank you Donut but animals give us as much as we do to them...sometimes more so so they deserve all we can give them. We should apply that to our human loved ones too.

It's your right to think so, but what's the point posting that here? This topic is for people who like to post info on their pets (in the off-topic section!?!?) and people who like to read about it. I guess you miss the social aspect of it. Don't you ever chit chat with friends about things that other people may find totally uninteresting?
You're a great guy, but I think you should focus a bit more on what you like, and try to ignore a bit more the things that you don't like![]()

Actually with a very little stretch you could consider this thread related to Elvis as he was a great animal lover too. It's all in how narrow or wide you choose your views to be.....

Cheyenne, our Shephard/Timber Wolf mix.
Her favorite thing to do, besides play in the snow, is going bye-bye.
