I completely agree. It's something little and innocent, and allows me to nurture them.
Animals never reach the point of rolling their eyes at you when you tell them something. They never act like we are old and dumb.

You are sure right. I remember when our kids were young teenagers and god forbid if I should joke or laugh too much in public...I'd get that embarrassed "mom"..but it only made me worse.

I am so thankful now that they have grown up and laugh along with me...even start things themselves. We all have a twisted sense of humor and have a lot of fun.

My hubs grew up in an household that did not like pets. I grew up always owning pets. It took him awhile to warm up to my furry little friends when we were dating! However , he ended up loving them. It took some coaxing once again to get another new member into our household but we finally got Butterball! He now knows what he missed growing up! The boys adore their little kitty and so do hubs. I think I am now second best to the cat! And guess where Butterball sleeps at night? Right next to hubs......in the bed!

I always think what people are missing when they never have a pet to love or to love them back!

My husband grew up with pets but cats were relegated to the outside, never in the house. I grew up that cats were house pets. My husband didn't take too long in understanding that the world out there is rough on such little animals.

Some of our cats feel closer to him and some to me, some to our daughter. I really enjoy seeing my husband devise toys for the cats and take the time to play with them.

Yes.....I remember that story. You had the dog that "ate twice."

You can't put a price on what they are missing.

Jim and I were raised just like that Diane. And he has learned what life can be like for a helpless little creature left to fend for itself outside. Of course...I want to take care of all of them, or at least the ones in NE Texas.

I have a couple name suggestions Rosanne if you don't mind.

    1.) CC or See See
    2.) Kismet
    3.) Clambake
    4.) Cisco- After the Jumpsuits
    5.) Roustabout
"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley

If he were a girl I would name him "Queenie Wahine."
