My little cockatiel Arkie had his final check-up with the vet today, and he is okay.

The 10-day cage rest was tough on him (worse for me!) but he came through it fine in the end.

The blood-stained feathers have grown out already, and he is back to normal. His back feathers will take a while to come through, and it will be months before he can fly. He's liking life much better now that he is allowed to roam in the house out of the cage.

So I have to make sure he doesn't try to fly and land on the ground on his ***, or it will all happen again.

But he's a little trooper and has been through too much in his four months of life.
