Elvis - We Love You Tender...Honestly!

    Hi Guys,

Does any of us have a copy of this Dee Presley & her Boys publication?...If so, what do we think?

This was published a couple of years or so after the controversial 'Elvis - What Happened?'

Do we think that this publication was just as controversial and unflattering towards our man?

What do we think of Dee and which one of her Sons appears the most sincere or which one would you trust the most/least?

    What do you think guys?

    Cheers.

I have this book by the Stanleys and Dee.

And i don't know what to think of it...it's not bad,it's not good, little of Elvis, more from them.

It's not written with hate, either love.

I've read it once, and that was enough...it was a boring expierience.

I guess Dee and the Stanleys where saving their stories for later books, and there where plenty of them.,as we know by now.

This book has a beatifull tittle, but the text is....simple,not so insightfull as it could be and...boring.

Anything that has the Stanley name on it should be avoided like the plague, the only consisitent thing about them is their inconsistency...

    With friends like these . . .

Its a shame how quickly friends will turn on you.

    Generally speaking:

There is so much ignorance & prejudice (ie: pre-judging / unjudiciousness) pertaining to some topics in The Elvis World ----> yet so little time.

    ----------------------------

All who were there have pieces to the puzzle; that said, the reliability, both on & off-the-record, of some who were there is highly variable indeed.

I have got this book, but tell you the truth I can't remember
    much about it.

I know I only read it once and it's on my bookshelf gathering
    dust.

I don't buy many Elvis books now.Sometimes I get them as gifts
    from family and friends.
The last one I bought was Elvis in the Twilight of memory(1998).And I still have not read it yet.
I have lost interest in these type of books.

Not that good, but nowhere near the insanity that Dee spouted when let out by herself. Has some interesting little stories.

The only Stanley book that I've really liked was Billy's (I think it was titled "Elvis, My Brother). He comes across as more trustworthy than the others, down-to-earth, and candid about the situations he describes. He also states that he did not like "We Love You Tender" at all. I'd recommend picking the book up for a different perspective.
