I have to re-think of the cds i was going to get this week.

and two weeks i s a long time to get pay again.
so the 2 cds i be getting are,

with Closing Night you'll have fun if you like Elvis fooling around and messing up song like i do...but i felt no passion in the songs almost at all when i listened to it.

I enjoy the overimposition of Bridge Lyrics over Suspicious Minds music...really funny....El could do anything with music

A great choice Curtis...both are essential releases in my opinion....i am sure that you will enjoy them

Which ones do you have so far ?

Susan, I don't have them all, but I am confident in giving the following advice...

I think the recent release of On Tour The Rehearsals would be a great place to start, since that material seems to appeal to most all Elvis fans.

But if you're primarily into Elvis' soundtrack material, you might try Viva Las Vegas, which is probably the strongest of the bunch. Or do you have a favorite movie that's been given the FTD treatment? Or if there are too many of those to choose from, maybe try Out In Hollywood or Silver Screen Stereo. But getting one of the soundtracks in the 7" deluxe packaging is the way to go, I think most would agree.

Want a concert? I'd recommend the Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis CD to start out with, which also came in the 7" deluxe digipack.

The Jungle Room Sessions is held in pretty high regard, and rightfully so. Generally I would say if you're not much into that material, then choose something else. But that release shone such a more positive light on the sessions from which came the EP Blvd and Moody Blue albums, and in the case of many of the songs, it is like hearing them for the first time.

The Nashville Marathon is another that, I believe, if you're an Elvis fan at all, you have to like it.

If outtakes from the sixties float your boat, there are a few of those to choose from...which you probably know.

Though some people don't like the disjointedness of this release, 6363 Sunset is high on my list.

Well, I probably shouldn't go on, because the more I say, the more difficult I'm making it for you!

Good luck, and don't feel silly!

    love and peace,

    Susan,

You're welcome. And geordie's recommendation of Essential Elvis is a good one. Well, I've only bought one from them so far, but based on how quickly I got that one (not in relation to when I ordered it, but to the release date), I intend to buy all my FTD's from them from now on.

BTW, Curtis, I bet your EOT CD will get a lot of play!

I know you're going to LOVE the ON TOUR REHEARSALS CD Curtis!!! I've had it for about a month now, and it still hasn't come out of my CD player yet! This one is DEFINITELY an essential release and an EXCELLENT choice!!!

As for CLOSING NIGHT, I hope you'll enjoy that one more than I did. As Gordon stated, if you like Elvis goofing around, then this one is for you! But I also didn't really detect much feeling or passion in any of the songs on this CD....he really just sounded like he was going through the motions during this show!! But maybe you'll have a different opinion of CLOSING NIGHT once you have a chance to hear it for yourself!!

Regardless of my thoughts though, Curtis, I hope you really enjoy your CD's when you get them!!!

    TCB!

and if i do find one i hope she's an Elvis fan like me.

but for now i happy being single and try to get new Elvis music when i can.

I am really looking for the next releases by the ftd.
