C'mon kids, lets turn of the TV and listen to some good music!

    Hello everybody!!

This is the first CD-design I have been working on in more than seven months (feels like an eternity)!! It doesn't have anything to do with Elvis, but Mark and Jeff mentioned that they were interested in seeing it, so I'm posting it here for everybody to see.

I am making it as a present for Valentines-day with music I think this person should hear and like It's a mixture between Swedish songs and song I like even though..

    COmments are much appreciated!!

    Well, I kinda like it!

The design has a very nice "arty" look and a cosy fifties feel... Nice job!

Thanks Sonny!! Also want to point out that the deisgn isn't finished yet, especially the back needs a more work. But I need to finish it tonight since I'm taking it to Staples to get it printed tomorrow morning.

Thank you Ron and NextStep for your comments, I'm glad you like it.

Ron - I'm not sure what logos I could use? Or what I am allowed to use, maybe Stapels say that I can't print it there if it looks too official?

Also, please see the changes I've made. Also created a booklet, although I am afraid that it looks too cluttered (sp?) but I don't have time to work more on that.

Suggestions on how to improve the design (what logos I could use..?) are much appreciated!! I decided to clean my room and car before I go to Staples so I still have some time.

That's very creative Linda, I like it - a great retro feel.

If you wanted to place some labels on the back maybe you could use the compact disc logo (as Unchained suggested) and maybe the digitally remastered logo, maybe your own little sister design logo too ?

Great work, and I don't find the insert too cluttered within the context of the design either, the only issue may be how clear such small photos will appear on the printed version ?

Hope you will find time for more designs in the near future

Thank you all for your comments and help. I ended up putting some a fake barcode and logos on the back. I was very pleased to see the cover printed, it was the first time I saw one of my designs professionally printed - a nice feeling! And I think the gift was appreciated!

I like that cover very, very much, Little Sister.

I am especially fond of the back cover which breathes the atmosphere of retro and new generation.

The front cover seems a bit inconsistent in itself and it does not quite fit to the rest, since it stresses the 50s too much (imho). And I don't think it works as a front cover. Although you are using the same typography, I would propose a "real" title in a different typeface.

But it is beautiful anyway. Really makes me interested to listen to that CD and that's what it is all about, isn't it?

Manhattoe - Although I was finished with this cover, it was for Valentine and Valentine is over now, I will work some more on it, just for practise. You made some very good points and I'm want to see what I can do about it! Thank you very much for your comments!!
