    Elvis' last show on FTD?

Here are a few small updates on future Follow That Dream releases. Ernst Jorgensens "SUN-project" will probably be released at the end of this year. The album "Raised On Rock" is listed high on the "updated albums" list, but no release date has been planned yet. IF Elvis' last show from Indianapolis is to be released on the Follow That Dream label an opportunity could be October, but as Ernst put it "I doubt it".

Very interesting. At first I wondered why Ernst would have brought that up in the first place if he doubted that it would happen, but I am assuming now that he must have been asked about it.

At any rate, it would not be too far-fetched to interpret that as meaning there's actually a decent chance...knowing Ernst. Who the heck knows? Anything could happen between now and then.

Raised On Rock will be a nice release.

    Lightbulb

Yes, this indeed is interesting to hear

What I am wondering is does FTD actually have this sow in their archives? I know that Joe Tunzi lists this show as being recorded on soundboard, but I have never heard or read anywhere if they (FTD/BMG) actually have the show in their possession?

Should the FTD people have this show, is it a soundboard recording, or is it a good sounding (perhaps master) audience recording?

As for releasing it, I would bet that if they have this show, it will be released sometime in 2007 to commemorate the 30th aniversary of Elvis' passing.

One thing is for sure, it's going to be very interesting to see what happens on this subject over the next couple of years.

    INTERESTING NEWS TO BE SURE!!!

If Ernst has a "doubt" about the release of the Indianapolis show, I wonder why he even mentioned it in his statement....unless he said it just so people would stop asking him about it. That makes the most sense to me, I guess.

I'm also a bit perplexed at RAISED ON ROCK being "listed high" on the list of albums to be updated....while I would certainly welcome an upgraded RAISED ON ROCK, I didn't really realize there were that many fans that were anxious to see that album upgraded so quickly! As I said though...I will certainly welcome it into my collection!!!

Always thought it would make a fantastic FTD release....if they do have it - or indeed can get hold of it. It would bring a new experience to some fans who believe 1977 to be a bit of a write off as far as Elvis goes...something they shouldn't do....
I remember posting a long time ago on FECC that every year Elvis performed live...there are exceptional performances to be found. Little did i expect the massive negative response that i got 1977 is a complete waste of time and contains no performances worthy of the King.....well....they may want to re-think that and actually listen to some of the shows from that year...this being a prime example. Yep...there were some poor shows...but some being the word.

    AMEN CHRIS!!!!

I couldn't have said it better myself....anyone who doesn't think Elvis was capable of a great performance in 1977 should take a good long listen to the Indianapolis show!!! And I couldn't agree with you more that releasing the Indy show on the FTD label would certainly help to dispel the rumors of how bad Elvis truly was in 1977! Like you said, there were some poor shows in 1977 certainly....but MUCH FEWER than some people would lead you to believe!!!

    I COULDN'T AGREE MORE RICHARDO316!!!

I think the June '77 tour is VERY underrated by many fans!! Yes, Elvis clearly was not feeling well physically...but in terms of his performances from this tour, while not his best performances of all time, they certainly are MUCH BETTER than most people give him credit for!!!

    ALL EXCELLENT CHOICES JERRY!!!

I was just really surprised to see RAISED ON ROCK listed as a high priority to the FTD team!!! I figured there were so many other albums that they would be considering for the 7 inch upgrade ahead of RAISED ON ROCK....but I am certainly glad they are working on that one!!!

Well Steve....like you, I am still hoping for a soundboard of the Indianapolis show as well!!! But considering the historical significance of the show, as well as Elvis' outstanding performance throughout the show, I just feel that, if FTD has an excellent audience recording of the show, they should go ahead and release it so that fans can hear Elvis' final live performance! It is possible that no soundboard of the show exists, and if FTD decides to wait for a soundboard to surface, many fans would be deprived of hearing Elvis' final concert and that would be a shame!

So I guess my thought on this is better an audience recording than nothing at all!!

Stereo Soundboard Of The Last Concert

At least there is a tapebox that shows Elvis' last show in Indianapolis on June 26, 1977 is taped on a stereo soundboard. Hopefully the contents still exists too. If so, the tape seems to contain parts of the Stamps performances and some parts of the introductions of the band are missing.

I really hope that ftd label will release the Indianapolis soundboard very soon, and I hope they don?t do like they did with the pittsburg concert and release a audience version.

I read a message on the FECC that this tape box and story is now believed to be bogus. If this were true, I am sure by now Ernst J or someone at Graceland/BMG would have responded to it by now.

I would hope that something "official" from either of these sources comes out soon to either confirm the bogus tape or verify that one is in the hands of RCA.

Whether it's true or not, it's no big hoo hah to me. We have the complete audience recording in excellent sound so I don't feel as if I'm missing out.
