I like All periods. This is my Answer ! Short But true ! lol
What is your favourite Elvis period?
Is it the rocking Elvis in the 50's? the movie times Elvis in the 60's or the older Elvis in the 70's?
Well ill tell you my answer
We alll love the young Elvis in the 50's,rocking away, but i hardly listen to that anymore..the 60's? well i think Elvis his voice was perfect in the 60's too bad he sang mostly lousy movie songs then.cos really, his voice was amazing then,he could make silly songs like ol'McDonald sound GREAT back then!!Just cos of his voice,it's amazing really...
But my favourite Elvis period is and always be the 70's,mature special songs, with a personal message, many people can relate to his songs of the 70's...
hey dont count the amazing 1969 period to the 60's period ok...
I got mostly Elvis songs of the 70's playing on winamp on my pc..his voice might not be as crystal clear as it was in the 60's,but it's manly, powerful and mature, and the songs are special...
ok enough of my thoughts...now tell me yours...

I'll Remember You!!!
My favorite is the '70's.![]()
"I have learned never to ridicule any man's opinion, however strange it may seem."
The 50's for me, probably because i was around when Elvis started out, new, raw, and the youth were ready to have something they could call their own, the music was fantastic, i'm glad i was around to witness his incredible journey.
Any time he was around.
That is really great to hear and special u know..
and as a side note,im younger, but i love the slower songs,ur telling me here u love the "Wild" Elvis hehe lol
And yeh ur right,no matter what some say, elvis changed the world in the 50's,yeh he might have seen some ways of it in black music, but no black man sang and moved like Elvis, uhm this isn't meant to be racial,Elvis fans know what i mean, some claim that Elvis stole his singing and dancing from "black"music
I do love the ''wild side'' but i appreciate all Elvis's music throughout his life, it's just that being around from the beginning, the 50's music has a special place in my life.
I loved the "wild side" too, Kathy, fun, lol.

I love many songs from the 50's, but my favourite period is 1970, during the filming TTWII!! But I love the 68 Comeback too!! And I love the laughing version of "Are You Lonesome Tonight" and "Suspicous Minds" from 1969!! And I love "Elvis On Tour" from 1972, and I love the "Aloha From Hawaii Concert" from 1973!! OK, I can't decide and I can't answer to you... LOL...![]()

The 68 Comeback was really special, because he sang many songs from the 50's (Love Me, Lawdy Miss Clawdy, Love Me Tender, One Night, Blue Christmas and the others) and his voice was more mature and manly there, and I prefer these version in the 68 Comeback or in 1970, than in the 50's. "Love Me" totally amazed me when he sang it in 1970, I heard it first in your video on YouTube LOL... (I still wait when you will put it back

) And that song is from 1956!! That is one reason why he was a great entertainer, because his songs never were forgotten, he always was able to "rejuvenate" them and keep them in the audience' mind over the decades. And beside that he always had great new songs of course in the 60's and the 70's as well. But my favourite year is always 1970!!! I think he was in his best physical shape there and he had enormous energy what never before or after (like a 20 year-old man has and not a 35 year-old man usually). Anyways I also use "Winamp" when I listen to the songs on my PC, I love the program.

While I certainly love all periods of Elvis' career for one reason or another, I have just always been fascinated with the 70's aspect of his career. I have always loved his voice in the 70's....so full of power and range, and his concerts were a way to be able to hear everything that the man was capable of singing -- rock n' roll, country, R & B, gospel, powerful ballads....all in one live performance!!!
It always amazes me each time I listen to an Elvis concert....to hear all of those different forms of musical genres come from one voice!!!

We will miss you dearest friend
My favorite Elvis period is 1968-1973. He was on top of his game in every aspect, music and health. He was pushing out great songs and it was just great. There is nothing better than the 1969 Recording Sessions. I love all of Elvis' music from the rest of the time (54-67 and 74-77), the ballads he recorded after 73 were great and had a lot of feeling in them and the early sun sessions is what got rock and roll started, but it is hard to argue against 68-69, when he was working on the comeback and he was recording and releasing great music.
"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley
I love all his songs but as Kathy says, the 50's was a magic period for Elvis he was in a class of his own, I too am so glad that I was there at the beginning of a Legendary performers phenomenal journey that will never be equalled, he was the pupil, the teacher and the MASTER! I feel for you guy's that were not around at the begining,he did literally change popular music forever in a very short period of 1956..
All 3 have a different sound and I apppreciate them all, but I loved the richness to his voice in the 70's.
...you're moving on the back roads, by the rivers of my memory and for hours you're just gentle on my mind.
50's Elvis for me!
The One and Only King of Rock'n'Roll.
I like the late 60s early 70s i think he looked his best in this time period IMO..
I do like his movies in the late 50s early 60s .![]()

Tell Elvis we say HI
There are good things in every period, like to watch the early 70's shows. Like his 60 period some of the movie albums are very sunny and chearfull, and of course the Memphis period, great music and the 68 comeback special. But the 50's are my favorite because then it al started, wish I could have attend one of those early concerts. Electricity![]()

without a song, the road would never bend,
without a song, so I'll keep singing the song.
