Cissy Houstons words on Elvis in her book "Remembering Whitney"

Cissy Houstons controversial new book "Remembering Whitney" has very kind words about Elvis.
She says Elvis was drop dead gorgeous when she first met him and that it was an honor to sing behind him.
She also speaks of his being the kindest most generous human being she ever met and recalls her memories of that generosity.
Nice to see Elvis getting some complimentary remarks.

The fact that Elvis had black singers onstage backing him up is always overlooked by those who try to make out that Elvis was rascist.

It's great that Cissy is reminding people of this in her book- which will hopefully be read by a great many people.

There was a brief piece in one of the UK papers a couple of weeks ago about Cissys' book, nice that she's remembering Elvis, unbelievable to think she's been gone almost a year.

Well, she mentioned Elvis because she does need to sell books....just kidding. It will be good to know that maybe Whitney Houston fans will buy the book and know that her mom worked with Elvis for a short time and how she thought he was a great person. Anytime Elvis gets a nice plug in a book or TV shows it only helps his image for future generations to learn what we already know.

For anyone that hasn't seen it, here's Whitney Houston talking about meeting Elvis in 1969 when her mum Cissy was singing backing vocals for Elvis in Vegas...

Believe me, most Whitney fans know about her family's connection to Elvis. Her daughter Bobbie Kristina Brown has talked about Elvis before and said that he was her childhood crush. She even has a necklace that Elvis gave to either Cissy or Whitney. Aside from Cissy, her then husband John was close to Elvis during the time he was managing the Sweet Inspirations.

Cissy mentions that John was very friendly with Elvis and they seemed to hit it off well from the moment they met.
John was also doing what managers do, wanting to get in good with someone he felt could help further his goals-IE better money for the Sweets, better perks in the deals.......
