Noooooooooooooooooo.................
Ah, I've mocked Cliff previously on here, but he comes across as such a nice fella. Cliff obviously still has a huge market and a duets album although not for me could be beneficial. It's funny as I met a man last week that plays guitar for a Cliff Richards and The Shadows tribute band and he didn't seem to be a nutter (joke).
Just for interest I checked the Cliff Richard Official Website and the vast majority of his fans are in favour of it. On the other hand, virtually 95% of the Elvis fans on various websites appear to be against it.
Brian
not a good idea,i like cliff.but hes not in the same league as the king,
LETS BE FRIENDS!
No, their voices would not blend well.
My lovely but now deceased aunt used to adore both Cliff and Elvis, so this would've been a match made in heaven for her. The thing with Cliff for me is that I remember what he was like in the 80s, specifically the Wired for Sound image has never fully left my memory and he came across just a little bit cheesy and for older people. Still, I can't see myself buying an album that has Cliff on it even if Elvis is on it too.
I guess if they do this collaboration it will only be marketed and sold in Europe, I don't think anybody over here in the states knows anything about Cliff Richard. At least I don’t.
Love Elvis...The Greatest

I'm about to rock your world Chris, don't say I don't ever do you any favours
Cliff is a huge Elvis fan so he would be singing the song with honor and respect to Elvis, but I just don't see a Duets album working. There voices in my opinion wouldn't meld together well.

I never looked for trouble but I never ran.
Who is this guy? I swear, I have never heard of him except on this forum. But I doubt that Sony would do that. If they do any duets project it'll most likely be artist that the general public actually knows of.
Check out my new blog about Elvis Presley @ http://elvis21century.blogspot.com/
I wouldn't like to see Elvis with Cliff in a duets album, Elvis and Cliff are opposites, with Elvis being sex on legs and Cliff, is, well, a bit androgynous.
However, Cliff does have some reasonable music:
It's not gonna happen would Sony make an album with Cliff Richard just to be able to release it in the U.K. market only.
Elvis' label from time to time tries doing duets with modern artists but it never achieves big sales or big publicity for them.
Cliff is English Viva, he's been in the music business for over 50 years and was huge in England pre Beatles and even after the Beatles he still has had hits. He's stared in movies, tv shows etc and holds the record (with Elvis Presley) as the only act to make the UK singles charts in all of its first six decades (1950s–2000s). If anyoen is a threat to Elvis' UK chart record it's Cliff.
He's not a singer that does it for me, but he still is working in an industry that is very fickle so he obviously has a huge fan base and he is still touring.
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.
Who wouldn't?! But as someone said here already don't know how good that would sound. Cliff is a good singer and is good in what he does but I don't know how his voice would fit with Elvis'. They're just too different. Ah, I just don't know. Maybe release a single first and then see how it would sound.
I'm sorry, but as much as I admire and respect Cliff, he is kidding himself. Anyone who saw him perform on the Queen's Jubilee Concert will know that vocally he has lost it.I found it embarrassing to watch.
It wasn't long ago he was having problems getting his songs played on the radio. He even resorted to begging the public to buy his new Xmas release so he could get another number one.
For him to even consider making a duet album with Elvis makes me wonder that at his age, 70, senility is taking over.
I like him when he was with The Shadows, that was allright. Even Lennon and Elvis liked him a bit, but after he went solo, something just went very wrong with him, something about him just doesn't look or sound right.
I think Elvis world don't need that happening at all. I don't think it will happen anyhow lol
