The timing from companies like "RIAA" always seem to be delayed for "anniversary dates of celebrities".
We all know good and well on here what Elvis records are popular and no one compares to Elvis when it comes to record sales.
No can set the bar as high Elvis did and that's not mentioning the closet fans out there who are too embarrassed to admit he was the best.

Very disappointing but not entirely unexpected. Sony have proven that they will not go that extra mile when it comes to Elvis by 'shipping' a minimal amount of extra copies to gain an RIAA Award. 'An Afternoon In The Garden' and 'Christmas Duets' are both extremely near GOLD certification and SONY could have 'shipped' the necessary amount to gain Awards this time around.
Of course they will make a big deal of the presentation, especially the Diamond Award for 'Elvis' Christmas Album (1970 Version), but in reality this is a PR exercise in order for them to look good. We know better. All of the Awards mentioned were achieved some time ago and have been on the EPE site for months.
The fact remains that Elvis' RIAA Album tally remains at 134.5 million.
