I agree it is time to lighten the mood a bit around here......this is my favorite:
It's during one of the "sit down sessions" for the 68 Special, and Elvis starts to sing. His upper lip goes into that famous curl.....he stops singing, and says, "Now wait a minute there's something wrong with my lip.....", and gives a knowing wink to Charlie, the guys, and the audience, and further says, ".....I got news for you baby, I did 29 pictures like that....."
My second favorite:
During the same "sit-down session", D.J. Fontana mentions Elvis' performance in Florida in the 50s. Elvis explains "The PTA, the YMCA, they though I was, it was something....(chuckles), and the police came out and they filmed the show. The whole performance I had to stand still except for my little finger....(starts to wiggle his pinky)...You ain't nothing but a hound dog cryin all the time.....you know the whole show.....(laughs)."
I laugh every time I see this part of the show......![]()

Elvis had such a great sense of humor all throughout his life.
Elvis is talking about his career from his side. Closer to the end he starts talking about his later movies and how he was in a rut in hollywood. He says, "I got into a rut in Hollywood, making picture after picture. I was in a rut just off of Sunset Blvd... this big rut. And I was down there and I said 'Get me outta this rut!' And they said, 'You stay down there! You have long hair anyway you fool!'" (Something like that... I couldn't get the transcripts)
