Major labels to end CD sales in 2012 (Elvis related)

Perhaps thats why supposedly the Mayans predict 2012 as the final year of earths existence.

Well, it's like you said earlier, there will be a transitional period, so I'm still going to buy CDs, I still own a video recorder and some VHS tapes that for some reason haven't been put into DVD format. My niece thinks it's amusing that when I was her age (14) I had to physically turn my tv over by hand and we only had 4 channels!!!!!

lol. That´s exactly the same thing I thought when I first heard this. To me it will be the end of the world if they stop selling CDs.

I guess downloads are the future, especially for the youngsters, but for us guys who like the cover art, booklet,picture disc just as much as the music, it will be a huge loss for sure ............

I don´t any young person who likes downloads more than CDs.

Apparently Sony nor RCA is one of those major labels cutting back. A Duets albums is indeed being discussed by Core Media Group (formerly CKX) with Sony.
