Elvis' influence is on everybody, even if they don't know it. This is the drawing that Hendrix drew of Elvis that night.

Just read a bio about Jimi Hendrix written by his brother and the brother says that Elvis was a big reason Jimi began to play guitar.
He says when he started learning to play, he would play along with Elvis records, Dont Be Cruel, Hound Dog, and later his playing began to take a unique style all his own.
Jimi and his brothers favorite artists were Elvis and Little Richard.
14 year old Jimi Hendrix saw Elvis in concert on Sept 1st 1957 at Sicks Stadium in Seattle Wa. and it had a life changing affect on him.
He drew a picture of Elvis on notebook paper after the concert.
Work in Progress!

Love Elvis...The Greatest
RIP Tommy
Thanks so much for posting my friend KPM.![]()
I dream a world where man no other man
will scorn. Where LOVE will bless the earth
and peace its paths adorn...
If it was in 1957, then why wasn“t Elvis“ hair black?
Latter on Hendrix described Elvis as: "A fine blues singer". That at the time (mid 60's) when everybody was putting down Elvis because of the movies. So it meant a lot that Hendrix stood for Elvis with that comment as to remind people why Elvis was great for.
Curiously, Hendrix was labeled in '67 as "The Black Elvis", when he became notorious for his wild stage antics incluiding burning his guitar, and moving his hips in a sexy way towards his amp.
Thanks for sharing the drawing!!!

Thank you KPM, it's great to know Jimi thought that well of Elvis.
