Once again, we're just going to have to agree to disagree. I'm tired of the debating every single post that I make. Tired of it!

Thats the point of a forum to discuss, debate and share knowledge of a mutual interest but if you make a point, state some story or supposed fact someone will likely want to know the sourcing........who what where and when.
We can agree to disagree sure, but in this case the overwhelming evidence is that Alex Presley is not a cousin of Elvis.
I expect the same from you about my posts......most here who value getting the facts and truth also expect the same of their posts.... when something is inequivically stated as a fact and it seems to not jive with common knowledge about Elvis-nothing is wrong with asking where did that come from and exploring the subject for the truth.
In journalism class we were taught to not just get one source-but you had to have at least 2 independent reliable sources for an item to be run in a paper.....3 was even better. There is nothing wrong in that.
I do not call anyone names, nor belittle them-but if someone makes a statement that I do not agree with or know to be incorrect-I will say so.
I expect the same for my posts-thats fair.

Yes thats true and its proven by actual tracing of blood lines through public records and documents. So there is no debate on Oprah or Jimmy Carters blood lines crossing Elvis's (althought we are talking pretty far back)

I still would like to know where you got that Alex is not related to Elvis when I have posted multiple sources saying he is. Including an Elvis News related site that included him along with Priscilla's christening of the new American Queen boat. I have searched on the net for info on him and it's hard to find. I even went to the Pirates fan message boards and nothing on Alex except for his on field play. Plus his bio doesn't even talk about his personal life or his relatives.


I know you said that it was someone from the Pirates organization but that seems fishy to me. There's 30 plus players on the roster and they come and go all the time in trades and being sent down to the minors. IO highly doubt that their spokesperson would be aware of such private information of who they are or are not related to. I'm also sure that MLB network would have done their homework first before making such a claim on the air when talking about him.

My friend I'm sorry it sounds fishy to you because it is true-you are welcome to do as I did when this question came up-when I could find no info on the net that supported this claim....I searched for the Pirates website, and e-mailed their PR department It answers all questions about the team its history, it current players, about events, promotions etc.....they speak daily with players, actual first person contact....sorry I would tend to belleve them they have no reason to mislead the public or to incorrectly answer questions about their players. You can e-mail their link for questions and let them tell you firsthand.

Now if they had said "Yes he is" I would have gladly reported that back on your thread as well-but sorry that is not the answer they returned.
Come on you have to admit-for anyone named Presley they probably get that question once a week when they meet anyone new....its not like my question to them was the first time the Pirates or Alex was asked that question.
But perhaps I asked it incorrectly, you can word it anyway you think may be proper.....but I am sure the answer will be the same.

I will try to find an e-mail for Alex directly-the Pirates had a bio, his team stats, his lifetime ball history and related news items to him-but no direct link-If I can find a link I will e-mail the question to him.

Well, it is interesting thread to see how in USA someone can have a famous last name ... but not related to THE famous man or woman. I think I would believe that Alex Presley is Elvis cousin's if Alex himself who stated that on an exclusive interview,.. or if there are pictures out there that can prove it thats even better,

we all come here on this forum to learn about Elvis, so vivaelvis dont feel you are put down with my words, Your thread often quite of a controversy but its in a good way, somehow the discussion needed to start with something, i think this is when I wish the moderators would come once awhile to check on each thread, if its out of hands with the way members discussing Elvis, it should be address.. But so far i see nothing but respect of other members even if they disagree with you.

I think this is one reasons why i dont start thread because i dont like the disagreement out of it yes its easier to say' lets agree to disagree' but really most the time, I wish I was always right ... hee hee hee :-) This is just my personal opinion, and a bit of joking ..eehhh

Something like "Alex gets asked this a lot but no he is not related in any way to THE Elvis Aron Presley. They just happen to have the same last name. Hope that helps". To me, that would be more of a complete answer to a very interesting question. It also makes me wonder if he has requested for them to say that he is not so that he doesn't have all the Elvis jokes aimed at him or get distracted from his craft of playing professional baseball because of his bloodline.

Are you serious? You claimed yourself that you got an email response but you never posted the email so that we all could see. For all we know you could have just made that up and didn't get any response at all and claimed you did. I made nothing up Viva, I recommend you e-mail the Pirates its simple to do. I will not post e-mails with individual addresses and names...no offense I do not want my personal e-mail address all over the internet-simply not smart.
Plus I did not ask if I could post the actual e-mail from the Pirates office-I would not like that done to me-and I will not do it to anyone else.
I have a good rep here I WOULD NOT MAKE UP ANYTHING! I have no need to bolster the truth when I find it.

When I say something I will either tell someone here is a link to my info, or I will say I recall this, but really do not remember from where from......and I will try to find a source to point to book, interview, link etc and when a question like this one on the ballplayer comes up I WILL LOOK UNTIL I FIND an answer if I am interested as to whether its true on anyones thread...truth matters a great deal to me, sorry if that offends you in some way we are who we are.

No of course not-but because it did not end up like that .....you take it personal. Sorry I am not going to change my posts to alter what I find-it is not right.
In this case I explored pretty far and just found nothing-zip.
My last resort was the Pirates themselves and they answered the question.
It is not "to prove Viva wrong"-it is find a source that supports the threads claim or does not support the claim pure and simple. Rumors are rampant-I would not like TCBs forum to be a part ot that system.
It is not personal, I have never claimed you made anything up-or even implied it-you have done this a couple times with me.
I have not got personal with you-I have debated things with many people here and elsewhere over time-and except for a couple of people and a couple MJ fans I have never had someone take it as personal as you do.
The world does not all agree on everything, people have likes dislikes and points of view-but somethings are not open to subjective opinion and there is a correct answer and and incorrect answer-black or white-this ballplayer question is black or white-not gray, nor off white why my wanting to get that answer correct upsets you personally I just do not understand.
