Is the new single a dig at Scientology?

Bluesy, quieter, more soulful, did she write this one? Pretty good.

Will the single come out the same day as the album?

You can see they took pictures in Gladys and Vernon's old room. I think she looks and acts more like her father every time I see her.

Sorry, I just don't like her voice, and the songs sound a bit dreary.
Lights Out was good on her first album, but I didn't take to any others.

Minute 1:10, when she smiles right after she said: it took a little bit... wow, she is identical!

Now some people, Lisa haters as usual, have said now that she's starting to act more and more like his father to win over the Elvis fans as a potential market, I don't think that's the case, I think she simply loves his father to much and Elvis is still such a huge influence on her that she can't help it, in the end well duh! is her father right?

Not really fond of her previous work, but this one sounds like she's really finding her own sound without trying to be hip but rather dealing with her own musical heritage, being that not just Elvis, but that of being a southern girl/the memphis sound, and also the sound of bands that influenced her as a teen.

    Good job!

It's only natural that some or a lot of her fans will be fans of her father. So I think it would be a mistake on her part not to except that her fans will be Elvis fans too. People that were born in the 50's or 60's remember her as a child and almost feel like they know her, so they are going to root for her to be successful. Like you said Eduardo, it’s her father so of course she will look and act a lot like him. Any person will act to a degree like their parents.

I found it funny in the video she was like the producer wants to work with me, on my album. LOL. She has to know that the guy is going to work with her just because who her father was. That guy was probably just as excited as her.

I will probably buy her album when it comes out. I will be ready to watch her on all the talk shows and watch her answer the same questions about her father a hundred times. I know that has to be tiring.

Sure most of her public its build from Elvis fans, or at least at the starting point of her career, that's was an almost granted public I guess, they will get it at least out of curiosity, ironically most of her haters are Elvis fans too). It must be extremely hard to act out of Elvis shadow and get recognized on her own terms, but she was aiming to that from the begining, and I think although she was still far away from that with her last album, she's going in the right direction with this one and might finally achieve that now. As I said this is less trying to sound as what was hip and current fad and much more going for the roots, funny, this is closer to Elvis sound or the memphis sound, and yet this might be the one that finally got her a musical name of her own regardless of who was her father. So that's why I don't get the Lisa haters saying she's a phoney imitating her father to win over his fans, I think they are wrong.

I didn't like her previous albums, too much teen oriented pop for my taste, but I might get this one, this is one that goes on my current artists -I like it- list, and that on her own merit, not because I'm and Elvis fan, -still I think her voice is too polite (and maybe a bit digitally fixed), I would like her to be just a bit more rough sounding-. Sure Elvis, regardless if he liked or not the music, would be proud of Lisa's effort to keep it up with her musical ambitions.

Re: Hear Lisa Marie Presley's New Single "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet"

All this talk of "Lisa Haters" is illogical. I can't stand Joe Cocker's voice, Willie Nelson's voice, Or Mack Davis...doesn't mean I hate them personally. The notion that your have to love Lisa, and her music in one..is just silly. Lisa's voice (like Cocker and Nelson's) is unusual and will not appeal to the masses. Therefore, odds are more people will not like it than like is. It does not have much of a commercial appeal period.
As for getting in touch with her southern roots?? What does that mean anyway?? Her fathers music was a combination of a few kinds of music. Lisa did not live the "southern" life that much before her father died. Her parents divorced when young,,,and she went off to primarily be a Calf. gal. So that is the biggest influence on her life. And what you are exposed to minimally does not mean it is in your musical soul,,,otherwise my husband would be playing Country and not rock/blues. And Lisa has pretty much,,aside from a few (butt-kissing) folks, divorced herself from almost everybody and everything important to her father. So excuse me if I don't believe all this warm and fuzzy, Southern Roots is genuine,,and not a P.R. gimmick. Hey if she likes this style,,good for her but leave it at that.

Lisa is just not much of a singer i`m afraid and her 15 minutes in the musical spotlight has long passed.

Well nobody here stated you have to love her, just as nobody said if you don't like it you where a hater.

What does southern roots mean anyway? well pretty much that T-bone Burnett was in the studio, and the sound probalby has much more to do with him than with Lisa, that is true. You're right, Lisa, has not much to do too with southern roots music, growing up in Cal. and being more of a 80's newwave generation, but anyhow, if she feels like going that way and if in her heart & mind (and by birth) she's a Memphian, well I think sometimes what's in your musical soul is what you feel & choose and not so much where and with who you grew up. So I think its not merely P.R. gimmick, although yes it could be more of a producers idea than hers.

Re: Hear Lisa Marie Presley's New Single "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet"

I think she has as good a voice as many female singers, Alanis Morisette, Jewel, etc......she has a talent for songwriting that her father did not have.
Her music is growing with each album, its not fair to compare her to her father as an artist or singer.....but I understand how easy it is to do so.
If your father is ELVIS-you have southern roots genetically.......not by the environment you were basically brought up in.
I can not condemn her for wanting to follow in her fathers footsteps, many kids want to be like their father or mother but still have a path that is unique to them. Some succeed some don't.

This is how I feel as well. I liked some of her work on her two previous albums, mainly because of who she is. But the way she sings it is extremely hard to understand what she is saying. It sounds as if she's got a mouth full of food when she sings. Her style and sound is so boring to listen to on top of the bad singing.

It is also interesting to see who her manager is. The same man who has been finding ways to run Graceland and the music for the past decade and who some feel will be Soden's replacement one day as EPE's CEO....Simon Fuller.

I think she can sing but not as well as her dad, of course. I have a hard time of hearing what she is singing as well. I think she needs to open her mouth more, when you watch her the only time you see her mouth open up is when she lifts her lip up like you know who. I'm no expert of course but that might help.

Honestly, it's good thing she's not a contestant on American Idol, this particular year at that, or she would have already have been gone.

Well well well-I actually agree with you on this.
I have often thought that who ever mixes her music is not doing her voice justice-because her vocals seem so low in comparison to the music, backbeat other voices.
In live shows-she seems to have the same problem-her vocals are low while the music is loud.
But when you can hear and understand her words she is not a bad singer-but someone is asleep at the wheel in mixing and dubbing her music.
I would not like her music just because of who her father is-its either good, or its not-some is very good, and some is not.
Her songwriting is what impresses me most-that is not something that can be compared to her father so I'm sure that means a lot to her.

    In your opinion of course.
Her mother told her when she first began to show interest in having a musical career of her own that she was not sure it was a smart idea......basically because Lisa would be in a no win situation....she would be under the huge shadow of Elvis, comparisons would be harsh and unkind, and if she made a career out of music that semi suceeded everyone would say-its because she is Elvis's daughter......and that is exactly what has happened.
For every door that the name of Presley opened-their is the weight of that shadow, the unfair comparisons and IMO the worst thing of all- lack of credit for anything she does which does not meet the standards imposed upon her. NO WIN
My heart goes out to anyone in NO WIN situations.
