    Your First Elvis Book.

Bought 1962 costing less than a dollar.

I guess we all have a small (even large) library of Elvis books but what was the first Elvis book you ever bought?

"Elvis at 21" was the most expensive that I purchased....... so far.

For me it was a pictorial book released back right after he died with a pic of him in the Aloha suit. The same pic form the 'Elvis Sings Songs of Faith & Inspiration' album cover. I don't have it anymore. It was so long ago that I can't remember the name of it.

That was my first book too! The first time we went to Tupelo we took the book and that's how we found many of the places we visited while there including Faye Harris, Glady's best friend.

My first book was "Elvis Presley" by Wolfgang Tilgner, published in the former GDR back in 1987.

The first print I got on Elvis was a magazine given to me by an aunt-I do not remember the title but it was something like "Elvis on the Record" and it had a cardboard gold record on the cover which you could play with Elvis speaking.
The first true book was "Elvls Presley" by Favius Friedman.
Next was the Hopkins bio. I have about 60 on Elvis now.

My first Elvis book was the Sean Shaver classic...."The Life Of Elvis Presley."

I was (and still am) in awe of the many fine photographs that he (Shaver) captured, and this book is one that i still occasionally pull out of the bookshelf and give a looksie.

If you don't have this one in your collection, I suggest you search for one...you won't be disappointed with it

The Illustrated Elvis, by WA Harbinson, in 1975.

Still one of the finest Presley tomes one could have. It is excellent.

Sadly, old Sean took credit for many photos which were not taken by him.

Having said that, it is still a fantastic book.
