that would be great if she put her efforts into this.......there's nobody going to be able to do it as much justice as her.....
there's still the problem of finding the 'right Elvis' though.......
She says in the article that she WILL be making a proper movie for Elvis. She does not like the ones that have been done all these years. Maybe with her doing it, we might have a good Elvis movie for the first time.
She said it will be like the "Walk the line" type movie, which should be great. I wonder who she will get to play all the roles, mainly Elvis?

I only hope she follows through and does this movie. Would help make things much better ,IMO.![]()
I hope she follows through with it too. It's also my feeling that it may our only hope to see a "real" honest Elvis movie.

Thats goodi am sure she made it perfect
Well, it sounds like she really wants to get it right...and she's probably not going to rush it...and considering how picky she of all people would (and should) be about who is chosen to portray her father...
Maybe, just maybe, she'll wait another couple years until a certain someone is an even better match...
Maybe she'll have reservations about having her son do certain things onscreen which might be hard enough to watch if it's someone portraying her father and even more so if it's her son doing them. And maybe Ben wants nothing to do with acting or isn't much of an actor or Lisa doesn't want it for him BUT if she/he got over those things, imagine the buzz that would surround this movie if Elvis' grandson, who looks unmistakably like him, was set to play him.
I betcha it's crossed her mind.
I got the pic incidentally from this video, in case you missed it in the other thread: http://www.hulu.com/watch/325249/abc...celand-exhibit
...you won't forget me when I go.
It's getting complicated isn't it? But I can see Ben playing Elvis in the 50's with Lisa behind him but not in the 70's. If she does go ahead with this movie it will be tough to find an older Elvis that can actually move as he did and I mean just walking as well as dancing.
My guess is she will go with a ETA, since the estate is more involved with some of the tribute shows. I guess we will have to wait and see. I feel confident if she does go ahead with a movie it will be done right for a change.
I use to like the tv mini series that came on years ago and the estate was in charge of that. The movie with Kurt Russell was pretty good and the estate was somewhat involved with that too.

I hope sheŽll make the movie soon. IŽm sure it will be the best Elvis movie ever. I know who can play Lisa Marie when she was little: Finley.
If she does, she should use Bouke for the vocals, he has a fresh Elvis sound and can cover all the eras, check out his vocals with Glen.D on piano ........

For the good times cd, just click on it ..........
With great Hollywood cinema movies about Johnny Cash, Ike & Tina Turner, Ray Charles and even Marilyn Monroe, it's about time a high budget, artistic and proper movie is being made about our man. Even Jerry Lee Lewis had his movie (even though not up to notch with the aforementioned movies).
It should divided into two movies (based on both books from Guralnick). One from 1952-1960 and another from 1969-1977. They can skip the movie era.
Lisa shouldn't be involved though. She has nothing to add to the story. There are hundreds of fans knowing more than Lisa and Priscilla combined. People like Red West, Joe Esposito, Ann Margret and Linda Thompson should only be used as consultants, not sources (preventing the movie to become another "the story of Elvis" stories)

I'd like to see a bit more of the younger years. It seems like that is kind of glossed over. And there is sooo much more about his life in Tupelo/and early years in Memphis growing up that I think effected the rest of his life. It would have to have honest portrayal however to make sense.
I know what you mean but Walk Hard was a joke of a movie. Elvis has had enough joke movies over the years. He needs a serious movie made about him with good convincing actors as our man. Walk the line was a quality movie made about Johnny Cash. I would bet there were people that saw the movie that were not Johnny Cash fans and left the movie and went out and bought some of his cd's. The movie came across as a serious movie about a legend.

I understand what you mean as consultants but I think Lisa wouldn’t let the Hollywood producers take the overweight, drugs, ect persona of Elvis kill what could be a great movie. She will protect the image and focus on the good parts of Elvis, not that I think she shouldn’t touch on certain parts of Elvis' life. But let 90% of the movie be on the best voice ever, good looking, funny, COOL and humanitarian side of Elvis.
If the movie is produced correctly it could create a different image in the public of Elvis and bring in even more new fans.

Excellent point Laurie!!
Obviously, no periods of Elvis' career should be glossed over if the "end-all-be-all" feature film of Elvis is going to be made, but you're so right...let's focus a little more on what events in his younger years really formed Elvis, not only musically but personally as well. Too often, the focus is on the last few years of his life. While obviously that is an important part of the Elvis story, I really think the early years don't get covered well enough. Something similar to what the ELVIS TV SERIES a few years ago tried to do...really focus on the early, growing years of both Elvis' life and his career.

Really hope we see one that would be very nice, just dont know about the idea of her son starring as Elvis..that would be a bit...wierd..but could work out perhaps.
"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977
I don't know if what Lisa was referring to is Last Train to Memphis or not, but Jerry Schilling was on Sirius on Friday afternoon and said it's in production and that a comedy surrounding his meeting with Nixon was supposed to began filming last week in Louisiana but has been moved back.

Check out my new blog about Elvis Presley @ http://elvis21century.blogspot.com/
I loved the way in WALK THE LINE they featured his days on the road touring and seeing the other up and coming stars on tour too, Elvis was portrayed quite well too, we need a film like that , that gets into his real roots of his life, his struggle, breakthru, and meteoric rise, with perhaps less time on the glitz and more grit ........
