HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE choice... now I'm all upset and pulling my hair out over this one!!! I just don't understand what's wrong with Hollywood and why they continue to make the most embarrasing and dissapointing choices in casting Elvis movies.

While the choice is questionable we as fans of an entertainer who's been gone form this earth for 34 years shouldn't be questioning why Hollywood all of a sudden has an interest in him. We should be thrilled that he's important enough to invest funding into these films, whether they are good or not. Free publicity is always a good thing. As long as it's positive.
Check out my new blog about Elvis Presley @ http://elvis21century.blogspot.com/
If u travelled the globe u would be hard pressed to find anyone less like Elvis, dismal dismal dismal
hahahah he donīt even look close like a Elvis so why to they use him?![]()

I agree with you to a point-my disagreement is in the "sudden interest by Hollywood" every year since he died there have been projects which in one way or another have Elvis's music, name, likeness or parts of his life involved so its pretty much an ongoing ebb and flow.
As far as the actor Bana I know little of his work so that does leave some questions.
Raised on Rock also has a good point about the Nixon story being done already (and done pretty well to comedic effect)
But the script for this one might take a much more serious turn and than might be interesting to see.
Work in Progress!
Who? .
Eric Bana bio.... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0051509/
Played Nero/Star Trek.... Bruce Banner/Hulk.... Hector/Troy.... and many other. He's a great actor, but ELVIS???? I just can't imagine him in this role.
Eric Bana is a very good character actor, he may not look like Elvis but I beleive he will do a very good job at portraying Elvis. He may not be well known in America but in Australia he is very well know for his spot on representations of some very well known figures.
I guess in the scheme of things if you are looking for someone to play Elvis it's better that it is an actor of merit, Kurt Russell does not look like ELvis but most fans i know say he did a really good job of portraying Elvis. Eric has the ability to play Elvis very very well.
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.

Black Hawk Down and Chopper are his most famous roles
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.
You are right my friend, but only if , as you said: is positive, and I might add: quality product.
The last Elvis & Nixon film was not quality cinema and as positive as a cheap impersonactor. That is not free, that is a loss. And lots of so called "Elvis bio-projects, haven't been good.
An Elvis bioptic project would always be welcome if its good ofcourse.
that's the fear isn't that the script is no good, no matter how good the actor it can't fix a bad script
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.
Why donīt they searh around after actors some somehow look close to Elvis??? like Kurt rusell movie from 1979 and the movie from 1981. I truly wonder why they choosing this man. Well well itīs their choice. maybe i think kinda bad here. sorry lol
Again we'll just have to wait and see, but I don't have any great hopes that this one will be any better than the rest.
