'The Classic Christmas Album' jumps from 174 to 152 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and from 26 to 22 on the Country Album Chart with sales of 4,007 units. Total sales to date: 9026 units. It also jumps from 142 to 126 on the Top Current Album Chart (top 200 minus catalog albums) and drops from 33 to 41 on the Holiday Album Chart.

'Blue Christmas' jumps from 19 to 17 on the Holiday Songs Chart.

Also mentioned in one of my earlier posts this week the following albums have just become eligible for a GOLD Award by the RIAA:

1. 'An Afternoon In The Garden' and

2. 'Elvis Christmas Duets'.

Pretty impressive for an entertainer who left us over 35 years ago.

I agree, of all the money they "paid" the guy with the video and the putting the package together they have not tried to redeem their money back.

I'm shocked as well. With all the media coverage, even a promotional piece on CBS' The Morning Show with Jerry Schilling as guest. I guess we're seeing the same ole continued lack of respect from Sony that we saw with BMG back in the 80's and 90's. Some things never do change.

I think Brian Quinn may have given the answer-Sony may have special projects for Elvis, but they are intended for we fans.
They have put out several new $5 cds in Walmart, like Elvis Uncovered and a $20 large cd set of Elvis film music-but have made little effort to promote or sell the more expensive PFAP to anyone but fans.
Its a business decision-more than likely based upon the lack of large sales from the non fan demographic.....the catch 22 is that you can not increase sales from those non fans if you do not promote heavily.
But Elvis is pretty unique in that he is dead and still has a company willing to work on sets such as PFAP even though they know the sales will not go thru the roof, but over time will rack steadily upward.
Still a few copies in Walmart could not hurt...if they sell you put in a few more.....I'm sure there is a logic to "someone at Sony" but it alludes me.
