What's even more funny is how it took James Burton to bug Elvis enough to convince him to record the song to begin with, but once it went #1 he made it a staple to his live shows. Between fall 0f '72 all the way to the summer of '76, Elvis performed it regularly.

Well it never made it to #1 Chuck Berrys "My Ding a Ling" kept him from getting the #1...but you are correct that he drug his feet about recording the song but was happy with the results.
