    Re: February FTD releases

Well at least it's not another '76 show being released so closely to all the other recently released ones...

Still...there are tours from '73, '74 and '77 that have yet to be covered by an FTD release. Perhaps something from those tours could have been chosen instead of another show from the '69 opening season.

Can't wait to hear it nonetheless!! Thanks for posting the info. my boy!!

Front cover looks fantastic... Its nice to have 69 Vegas covered by recordings, BUT we have a lot of tours uncovered... I´d love new 72 On Tour show released in full, June 73 Tour shows, Houston 74 or first Memphis 74 show (something like combo first/last Memphis show would be great), July 75 Tour, Silverdome, June 77... Please direct more on Tour shows, not Vegas....

FTD releases used to be exciting but now they're like a stale joke that's gotten real old. Ernst must be running out of material or ideas for releases. When it first started back in 98, the FTD label had great potential. especially being funded by a major recording company. But they never tried to take it to the next level and now it's uninteresting and on it's last leg.

If you stand back for a minute a look at the treasure trove of material released by FTD, it's jaw-dropping!

    And long may they continue...

The latest batch of releases will do very nicely indeed.

Well enjoy them because I don't think they will be lasting too much longer. Especially with the cd market dying fast. Ernst apparently abandoned his plan to release a show from each tour. Instead he picks mediocre shows from the same tours or overflows the label with the same sounding 69 shows. Blows my mind at the stuff he does and how the fans accept it.

I don't really care what 'tour' it's from or what year it was recorded. I'm an Elvis fan and I'm thrilled to have ANY unreleased material!!! : )

    Re: February FTD releases

The problem that I have with 169 shows is that they are almost all the same. The setlist, the energy, the talking, the vibe.... Don't get me wrong, the songs are sung perfectly, but the shows vary very little from eachother

I want to have it, just to complete my collection. But I'm not thrilled about it. These 1969 shows were ALL extremely good and therefor not unique.

CD's like "Fly T-R-O-U-B-L-E" (featuring an extremely comical 1975 show where Elvis performs in a building full of flies) stand out. Not because Elvis gives a perfect show, but it's a different show, standing out from all the others. And with a show like that, I don't even care that much that the sound is not perfect. From all 1969 show that I have, I only listen to those with the best audio quality.
