Even though remixes are not my cup of tea, this sounds so much more effective than other things I've heard. Won't be the last time someone achieves a good result with such humble methods!
The picture used is ridiculous of course.
Screw Viva Elvis and it's chopped up amature remix. This real amature knows how to do it right! Check out each one of his remixes of the 50's tracksa. You will be BLOWN AWAY!!

Certainly sounds better than the attempts made for "Viva Elvis"...still think that you can`t beat the originals though. I guess that someone with the right talent and equipment could put together a good remix album, don` think I ever really heard a remix that made me go "Wow"...plus, i think that it`s the kind of thing where the novelty wears off fairly quickly, especially with the kind of dance-remixes etc. I think that it might all work a bit better if Elvis vocals were used with the music being played live in the studio by great musicians like Eric Clapton...then you might have a project that might just work musically and as a way of introducing Elvis to a newer generation.... problem is..that would take time, effort and money..and it doesn`t seem like Sony or the like are interested in contributing any of those things....Hope they turn around and prove me wrong some day!
It sure is better than most I've heard, but nothing outdoes the original. Remixes can be a good way to bring Elvis closer to the newer generations, but it takes some professional work and as Jack said: time, money and effort.
Sadly, people rarely take the time to make something worth listening. Everything is so instant in this world.

I actually like this-but as I will echo the comments of Jack-I like the originals.
This young man seems to have a good handle on how to remix thought.
Work in Progress!
This was not bad, thanks for sharing but the only remix that actually did make me go wow is the JXL A Little Less Conversation. Other than that one, I prefer the originals rather than the other remixes.
Wow! I AM SHOCKED!!! What an amazing mix. I think it's one of the best I''ve ever heard. It sounds like it's recorded this way by Elvis.... stunning

Definately a great mix! Great to pull in new, younger Elvis fans. But they need to also hear the originals. Nothing can beat Elvis' own recordings done the way he wanted them done.

A must listen.........................amazing remix!!![]()
I dream a world where man no other man

and peace its paths adorn...
check out the other 9 or so remixes he posted. all brilliant.

Good remix - almost makes up for that hairstyle!
I hear vision, talent and dedication. This is how it's supposed to be done! Get this on the radio and to the clubs!
I'm not 100% sure (to be the purist) about the other songs though, but 'Mean As Me' is just perfect.
Take that Spankox! And all the other clowns ...
Man !!! This guy is a genius !! I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Elvis' music, but these have blown me away. Not only has he remixed them, it's as if he's rewritten the whole melody. Just shows what a difference a different arrangement can make. The only fly in the ointment for me is the cover. Looks almost like Aston Kutcher.
That sure is interesting. The remixes posted by this guy are more similar to modern rock bands, whereas the JXL remix has nothing to do with rock, nor roll..Originally Posted by Diane

See thats where I see things a little different-the melody should pretty much stay the same, unless the author of the song, the artist of the song and the original producer sign off on changes.........it seems a lack of "creative respect" to the originators. Sure these sound pretty good-but there is a principal here IMO
Same with movies, colorization, adding scenes back in that the Original Director and editors took out..............great directors and film artists have been fighting those type changes for years since technology made it possible to make huge changes in films that were from another era.
Sometimes yes you can do things-things which may be very pleasing but the question that should always be asked is
"Just because you can do something on one level....does that always mean you should?"
To me its like saying the "Mona Lisa" should every so often be repainted, her smile adjusted to make it broader, or to make it fuller-sure someone could do this, but it would be beyond imagination to actually do it..................................same principle. IMO
Work in Progress!
Think I agree with you on that.Everything from music to art to literature is created at a great moment in time and comes together by its` own magic and circumstances....I think that things should either stand or fall on their own merits and be left unchanged as they were when they were created.
If we were to change everything to suit the current fashions and ideas the Mona Lisa would be a 36dd by now and Pinnochio would be a real girl.
