Do you still collect import/boot cd's

over the past few years it seems harder and harder to come by a great boot release , as many of them are now below grade ar's, or rehashes of previous soundboards etc.. I now only collect ftd product and unreleasd soundboard cds , gone are the days of collecting horrid sounding ar's on both cd and cdr and rehashes of soundboards. I am holding out for ftd to satisfy us with alternates, outakes and of course unreleased soundboards.

Re: Do you still collect import/boot cd's

Before the days of the FTD label, I used to collect as many import CD's as I could get my hands on!! Since the FTD label has come into existence, I have made it a point to add all of the FTD releases to my collection and therefore have scaled back my import CD buying to certain select releases.

I've bought all available soundboards.... and still do when they're released. I've also bought the better sounding alternate recordings bootlegs (American Crown Jewels anyone? ). And some audience recordings (you can count those on two hands).

I really miss those days. The waiting for new material, the search for a place or person that sold them....

Perhaps FTD makes it too easy for us? I think it would feel more special when the same material that FTD has released, would have been released through the bootleg labels instead?

Not as often these days. I would prefer to spend $ on FTDs
