I'm not one of those who thinks Ernst can do no wrong. Last days of Ernst at FTD? Be careful what you wish for. Ernst is the driving force behind FTD. It's his baby. No Ernst. No FTD (IMO).
According to your source?? Can you give us the source-since it would be very important in evalutating the info you post?
Since Sony has the vaults, and Sony has the tapes it would seem that they have somewhat of an edge-over any source outside the vaults and tapes themselves. But even with the vaults and tapes themselves-mistakes happen when things have not been properly catalogued when they were recorded.
Work in Progress!

The FTD label has now run its course in my opinion. Just how many soundboard recordings are we supposed to listen to with virtually the same songs. The original album re-releases with extra tracks and outtakes etc. are better but in all honesty how many of us play them more than once or twice.
As far as Ernst Jorgensen and Roger Semon are concerned they have done their best with what was available but just like the main SONY label are finding it difficult to come up with something new from an artist who has been dead for 33 years. I have all the FTD releases except the vinyl issues and they will always be a treasured part of my collection.

I don't know if the label has run it's course completely Brian...there are still many original albums that could use the "Classic Albums" treatment!!
But in terms of new releases containing unreleased material, I have to agree that the vaults are probably pretty thin aside from the live concert recordings so I suspect there are quite a few more of those to come...
