Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
cool little interview i looked it up on youtube!
Play it James!
Is this the one?
Enjoyed watching that, nice to hear someone as well-known as Martin Sheen talk so intelligently and respectfully about Elvis.A lot of good points in there as well.
Thanks to Brian for pointing this one out.![]()
That was a great video...thank you Jack and thank you Brian for bringing it up. I will always have fond memories of the days Martin is talking about.
There was also a lot of truth in what he had to say about Elvis and his acting career.
Excellent points made by Mr. Sheen-some which I have had in mind for years.
His acknowledgement that in "Love Me Tender" Elvis acted very well, and was quite good....his pointing to the "box" that Parker and Hollywood constructed around Elvis tha constricted rather than expanded, for the money making potential..........the lack of chance for growth (his concise description of the difference between success and growth)
His obvious love for Elvis as a singer. Excellent!
Work in Progress!
Thank you Brian for this real good interview with Martin Sheen.
I am surprised how well informed he is about everything Elvis ever did and how he was looking at the whole picture.
I totally agree with him!
It makes a nice change to watch something like this after watching/listening/reading so many silly interviews over the years.Mr. Sheen managed to say more and make more sense in that interview than anything I can remember hearing from any of those so-called "close-friends" of Elvis.
I think that he summed up Elvis` movie career really well..and his disappointment with it.
What I love most about what martin Sheen had to say was that...well,he was right.
Wow. He really nailed it on the head.
