Ive heard one version. Think thats the only live version there is, and its not rehearsed so its incomplete. Great song, i believe theres a 'new' version on the Viva Elvis release
Hello: I would like to ask if anyone has ever heard Elvs perform the song "Return to Sender" in any of his stage performances. The song was very well arranged and performed by Elvis in the original recording. Like "reconsider baby" it had wonderful saxaphone accompaniment.

This should be what you need. August 1, 1976 in Hampton Roads, Va.
Sincerely,Mr.TCB
Thank you very much fro sharing that live version. It sounded interesting and it would have been nice to see it developed more and rehearsed.
He also did it during his 1976 Tahoe season (on May 9), though the August 1 version was better and more complete. That was a rare highlight from a disappointing and very tired sounding show
That is ashame as I think that it is one of his better songs. I also never here Good Luck Charm, Loving You, Good Rockin Tonight, I've Got A Thing About You Baby, It's a Matter of Time, Surrender, and Don't in any of his stage performances. I find all those songs to be among his best.
have you looked at http://www.jordans-elvis-world.com/ he use dto have a link to rare live songs on his site. You can listen to them there
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.

Probably because it's a song well-performed even while being on low battery charge. Others included and I love you so and little sister. Other songs, such as bridge over troubled water, demand a concentrated effort all the way through and a lot of power too.
This version of RTS sounds very up-to-date for 1976 standards!

I shall look for the live version of these songs. Over the weekend, I also happened hear a live home recording of Elvis singing Earth Angel. If it had been recorded properly, I think that it would have been a wonderful song to add to his stage songs. The recording I heard had Elvis singing it faithfully to the original recording. I think it was part of a cd collection titled "A Golden Celebration" but I am not positive. Thank you to everyone sharing the information regarding the live version of Return to Sender and It's a matter of Time.
Best live performance was I believe Last July 24, 1975 (Last Ashville, NC) Show. I ahve it on CD. Thats the best return to sender he sang live. Same show he sang Pieces of my Life and more!
