Apparently Tom Jones will be on the Paul O' Grady Show (ITV 9 p.m. Friday 10th). I suspect he will be mentioning Elvis as well.

Just finished watching Tom Jones on the Paul O'Grady Show and yet again he had to ridicule Elvis. He told the 'shower' story and then related how Elvis went into the toilet immediately afterwards and had to call Red West to come and help him pull up his leather trousers. To add insult to injury Paul O'Grady suggested that if Jones had kept some of Elvis' excrement it would now be worth a lot of money. Jones merely laughed. This gave a very poor impression of Elvis. Tom Jones should be ashamed of himself for treating his former 'pal' in such a manner and on national television at that. He will not be getting any applause from me on Sunday. And yes, surprise, surprise, he will be singing the Elvis track 'Run On' (Jones latest single) at the Concert.

Agreed Brian, I let out a disapointed sigh when he started on that story. At least those who portray themselves as Elvis' best friend are full of praise, Tom Jones doesn't really saying anything good about Elvis anymore just tells his stories.
I watched it too Brian, Tom Jones was terrible, he doesn't deserve to be in the tribute show.
Hopefully even non Elvis fans would have heard this story so much from tom Jones they will start to get bored with it and realise its probably made up or exaggerated and also hopefully start thinking Tom is making up not-so-nice stories about Elvis to make himself look better. People only do this when they are insecure and therefore even Tom Jones know he was nowhere NEAR Elvis when it comes to talent or popularity!!
I think you are absolutely right. It must be remembered that when Elvis made his 'Comeback' to live appearances in 1969 he became a direct threat to Tom Jones' dominance at that time. From then onwards Elvis beat Tom Jones' attendance records and that must have gone down like a 'lead baloon' with Jones. His main contact with Elvis was during the years 1967 to 1969. From then onwards it was limited to the odd occasion in Vegas. I don't think Jones has ever got over this and as the years have passed he has relied on such stories to make Elvis look eccentric and himself normal.

As far as Priscilla on the tv last night. She came across ok. Was quite funny when she was eating the cake and choked a bit. No!I didnt mean it nastily, like that. I think it was a bit "put on" and it made the audience laugh. She did talk though! Chris Evans had to interrupt her to stop her talking
which I actually thought was also good as she normally doesn't talk enough. So all in all, even though Im not exactly a fan of hers, she came across well I thought.
I wonder if she is staying with Lisa Marie whilst over here.
In fact, I have just thought of something else.) story!?
