Hugely revealing, the "long term contracts" had him locked in-and he thought that they would get new projects for him that steadily progressed his film career-but eventually he realised that it was not going to happen.......

"Nobodys fault except maybe my own-I didn't know what to do......."
"I was obligated very heavily to things I did not fully believe in........"
Notice he does not send any blame to the man who negotiated these contracts and explained the contracts to him- the "Snowman" Col Parker.
