I don't have TNT, but the serie sounds great.![]()
Just wondering if anyone has watched Memphis Beat on TNT yet? It stars Jason Lee as Det. Dwight Hendricks, who works for the Memphis P.D. by day and sings Elvis & the Blues by night.
Each of the episodes so far have had an Elvis-themed title, like "Love Me Tender" for episode 1, "Baby Let's Play House" for episode 2, and so on. He even has an "Elvis Room" in his house....
It's a pretty good little show, and it will be interesting to see if EPE/CKX allows them to shoot an episode or two around Graceland. If you haven't watched it, give it a shot.

Some of you all never been down South too much...
I'm gonna tell you a little story, so you'll understand where I'm talking about
Although I didn't care for the show MY NAME IS EARL, I've always liked Jason Lee for some reason. And I have to agree with you ElvisLives, MEMPHIS BEAT is indeed a cool show!! Unfortunately from what I have read, the show (at least in the early going) has been getting some less than favorable reviews by critics and as of yet hasn't been renewed for next season. Let's hope that things turn around and MEMPHIS BEAT gets to keep beating for a second season...

That would be cool to have some exterior shots around Graceland. Once you go down past Graceland, Whitehaven is largely a ghetto and would make for some good shots too.
I'm the king of the jungle, they call me Tiger Man. If you cross my path, you take your own life in your hands....
I saw the first episode and it was good. I have to remember when this is on again.
Its on right now EST on TNT. A really, really good show. Jason Lee does a great job of playing good ole boy.

Not a big Jason Lee fan. But I do like the Memphis Beat show. Lee is also believable as a southern boy. Hope the show gets a chance.
If your an Elvis fan, no explanation is necessary....
If your not, no explanation is possible!
According to ElvisNews.com today, "The Hollywood Reporter" is reporting that TNT has renewed MEMPHIS BEAT for a second season!!
It's so good to see that the show received enough solid ratings to warrant TNT renewing the show for another season! Let's hope that the show picks up even more viewers next season!!

Ain’t it the truth?? It’s a good show and has the nerve to be intelligent, so on network tv it would be cancelled as we speak. Our saving grace (pun intended) is that TNT is not afraid of a quality series. TNT is also the home of The Closer. Loved Memphis Beat-great show and I stopped thinking about Earl (much as I miss him) within the first minute.
I enjoy that show a lot - especially since he's just singing the Elvis songs, not impersonating Elvis.
Although, the end songs seem tacked on and not really organic to the plot
be nice if there was more Elvis content through the show

Just for fun, how you like Elvis himself (around '73-'74) starring the show? Just kidding.
But anyway, I wonder if Elvis had lived through the 80's 90's and 00's, if he ever consider to star on tv series. Sounds tacky I know, but some big cinema stars, had done it with great results.
I would have been really sad to see Elvis having his own vareity show.
better that he did a round of the talk shows now and then

the first couple of seasons of MyName is Earl were classics. Look forward to this one too
I think so, then maybe he could get back to film work, doing the kind of films he really wanted to do.
Burt Reynolds did a TV sitcom, Ann Margret did a made for TV film. Not a big stretch.
And monk37? If Elvis had done talk shows, do you think he would have wanted to reveal anything about himself?
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
