I have a question.

Are there any books that are about Elvis in the studio? That tell which takes were the master takes, how many takes of a song were recorded, the dates they were recorded, etc?

Possibly Joe Tunzi's sessions books but i can't say for sure as i don't have any of those ones. I also believe that Ernst's book is good: Elvis Presley: A Life in Music--The Complete Recording Sessions .
