Elvis was COOL![]()
I always liked his sense of style.
Sassy... Cool... Way Out... Cocky
Just So **************** Cool!!
Oh Dear, Not My Cup Of Tea
Don't Go There??
We are all here because we love Elvis (I Hope) I love Elvis's sense of style, the clothes he wore whether it be 50's, 60's and 70's!
So..... here is the question, how do you quantify Elvis' style?
It is so hard.... because there are so many different era's, OK some haven't stood the test of time as well as others (obviously a question of taste, I love them all).
So was Elvis... Cocky... Sassy... Weird.... Brash... Aweful... Just left of the field?
I think that we can all agree there was nobody who could get away with wearing what Elvis did both on and off stage and look cool and not be over the top.
For me Elvis could wear clothes off stage that nobody else could get away with and carry it off in a way that he didn't look like over the top, it was just accepted.
What do you think?

No one before or since could pull off some of the outfits he wore![]()
I always accepted Elvis....just because there was no one like him .
Not before or not since.
I honestly never paid much attention to what he wore .
{exceptionn being the capes} Can't say I liked them because they looked too heavy & uncomfortable.....IMO.
{Well, I did like him in white jumpsuits with a tan}
A picture just popped into my mind ; I had to rethink that.![]()
I was just never interested in the "details" of what he had on.
It was his incredible voice that got my attention.
He never lost that....

Everything about Elvis caught my attention, including the clothes he wore. He was a total package of uniqueness and wonder.
I voted Just so********Cool because I never found him especially cocky![]()

You can buy them now, if you got the moolah, and look Just so ************Cool.![]()
Only ELVIS could get away with what he wore. I never thought anyone after wore a jumpsuit the way ELVIS wore a jumpsuit!!! I remember the white fringed jumpsuit mostly because that was what he wore the first time I saw him in person. I also loved the Chain, Concha, and White Nail. He truly looked like a GOD standing in the center of that stage!!! He was SLIM and he was PERFECTION and the white was so beautiful with his dark hair and tan. The white jumpsuits made Elvis GLOW on stage...or likely... the other way around. Whatever it was...you couldn't take your eyes off him.
I will never forget you Rosanne.

Fantastic and Cool... he always looked great!! Dovey![]()
A british comedian called Eddie Izzard, does a great monologue about the fine line between "looking cool" and "looking like a ********" (and its not the forum corrected the word, its my own moral compass deleted the rude word)
He does a thing about "one matchstick hanging out of one side of your mouth - looking coooooool! A matchstick haning out of each side of your mouth - looking like a ********!" Makes me laugh so much.
Well I think in Elvis's case he COULD have done the two matchstick trick and looked cool! So much of his fashion style was "cool" brought to its absolute limit but on him it just looked unbelievably cool. I mean, you go to your friend's wedding wearing a mink suit, one leather glove and carrying a torch what would people think of you? If you're Elvis, not a problem. The jumpsuits are tame compared to some of his "day wear" - like the rainbow fringe leather jacket. I can almost understand why some fans go so far and think Elvis was an alien - because he did look out of this world but always cool.
My fav pic that demonstrates this is one of Elvis and Sherrill: on elvis the jumpsuit is timeless on poor Sherrill its like![]()

Elvis always looked cool and different. No one dared to wear pink coats in the 50s, and he did!!! He wore some really COOL hats in the 50s too, he was WAY different from the others![]()
I love his style in the 70s (on and off stage)
His jumpsuits were AMAZING and I like the long capes too
lol, I especially like the leather gloves he wore on the George Klein's weddingThat's what I call STYLE lol
The big shades and leather jackets also looked AMAZING on him...I could go on, and on...
Elvis invented cool![]()
He looked just so ******* cool!He got his own style and wasn't afraid to show it. Cool!
