you know, I don't think he looked particularly overweight in those holiday pics.
Makes you wonder, did he put on some weight between March and June, or was it that Sundial jumpsuit that made him look worse?

Have to agree...Elvis should have been in a medical centre or rehab rather than on a vacation. In some photos around this time the weight seems to yo-yo from really obvious to well...not as bad as other times....but,the sad thing is despite his obviously poor health and problems nobody managed to stop the merry-go-round.Things could have been so much better...but they aren`t.
Also... I too have often wondered about the Sundial suit...don`t think it was the most flattering thing to wear at the time...in a lot of photos it makes Elvis look worse than he probably did.

I think Elvis looked really good on those pictures also (thanks for sharing btw). And with that I don't mean that he wasn't overweighed, but on these Hawaii pictures Elvis looked like a healthy, sleightly overweight man in his early 40s. Of course with the knowledge that we have today, I agree with Getlo that Elvis should have been in rehab or hospital. The fact that he died just a few months later is the sad proof of this claim.

in all the photos of this vacation it depends , in the ones where he is trying to play football he looks alittle bit slender , but in ones on the beach and in the beach house he looks really heavy. I do believe that he should have buckled down and tried detox again, because it's obvious in the picture posted he is heavily sedated[or at least it looks that way]. I can't believe that his personal physician can actually stomach to look at his patient looking and deteriating away.

I am not saying he wasn't overweight Getlo at all. However, he probably isn't any more overweight than a lot of middle aged Men.

The problem with Elvis wasn't the lack of free time: he had more days off than any normal working person: months in a row not having to do anything. Even the 50 minutes long shows (mostly one a day in 1976/1977) weren't as exhausting and energetic as they were in the early 70s. No, the problem was more complex. Elvis wasn't tired of working, he was tired of being Elvis.

I find that Elvis was a little overweight in these vacation pictures but what bothers me more is that he looks pale, pasty and unhealthy. I think he should have been in the hospital too.
