Out now: Kid Galahad and Follow That Dream

Out now are the two new FTD soundtracks Follow That Dream and Kid Galahad.

As usual the packing is very good. Many fullpage sized publicity pictures from each movie and some information about the tracks. The soundquailty is good. It's an improvement over the 'double features' versions, but with "Follow That Dream" it's not better than the amazing "Follow That Dream Sessions" bootleg.

The soundquality of the outtakes is really great and often even better than the masters.

I find it a weird move of BMG to release two albums at the same time with so littel songs. Four tracks on "Follow That Dream" and six on "Kid Galahad". Sure we get to to normal amount of minutes thanks to the outtakes, but it might have been better to release these short soundtracks along with some full-length soundtracks.

Are the Follow That Dream masters in Stereo Albert? I'm assuming all of the Kid Galahad outtakes are in Stereo, that have only been released in mono on bootleg?

The masters on Follow That Dream are in mono. However, take 7 (that's the mastertake) of Angel is also present as master. The outtakes are also in stereo (and sound better than the presented mono masters)

With Kid Galahad the masters are first presented in mono, and then on the end of the CD again, but this time in stereo. A real nice present.

Yes, that CD really has fantastic sound. But I've compared the outtakes on this FTD with the "Follow That Dream Sessions" (not the Memory release) and they sound very alike (quality whise).

I know we (as fans) have been ripped off so many times but I do like the fact that each soundtrack is represented as a separate disc. I love the presentation of this series. There should be enough Kid Galahad material that hasn't been released on this disc to be presented on other compilelations. I am not sure what disc you all are referring to when you mention "Follow That Dream" Sessions.....would it be "Keep Following That Dream" from Kwimper Records???

This is the (bad) version from Memory:

And this the fantastic version from Kwimper (?) Records:

    (more information)

So you're right: I meant "Keep Following That Dream"

    Question

Is the reviews i have been reading about the FTD FOLLOW THAT DREAM masters and outtakes have some faults on the backing tracks?like the master of ANGEL,were the backing sounds slow/draging.

Albert...i have your view on the above cds the other way round...memory to me,is way ahead on sound (a part from one song).

    Just a view.

Just received these new soundtracks and although I haven't listened to the outtakes yet, I have to say that I am VERY surprised by the sound quality of the master recordings on both soundtracks!

And I was wondering....does anyone else think that the MONO master recordings on the KID GALAHAD soundtrack sound more crisp and clear than the STEREO master recordings, or is it just me??? I couldn't believe the difference between them when I listened to them, and I have to honestly say that the mono master recordings are MUCH BETTER in my opinion....the stereo masters sound kind of muddy and muffled to me. Did anyone else notice this?

CAN'T WAIT to sit down and listen to the outtakes on these soundtracks!!

    TCB!
