I know that Elvis and the Colonel signed over the rights to the back catalog in 1973 and retained royalties from after that up to his death. So my question is, does EPE/Sillerman just own royalties to post 72 material or copyright studio recordings to all songs recorded from July 1973 to October 1976 or are live recordings from 73-77 also included in that deal?
Thanks for the confirmation on the deal.
Yes if Elvis rerecorded songs live such as Hound Dog from 73 on-he would receive royaltees for that new recording-but not from the original recording from 1956 or for instance from the 68 Elvis Comeback Special. So anything recorded before 73 Sony owns it outright.
