backup singers are doing just what their name already say: singing backup.

Elvis never pretended like he did the low notes when JD took over (like I Got a Woman) or the high ones (Unchained Melody). He clearly showed that he wasn't faking the audience or pretending that it was his voice.

So there's the difference: honousty. Elvis gave credit where credit was due and really loved to share the stage with vocalists (and musicians) that he respected and admired.

    Never liked him anyway

No I have never rated him as a singer and not since seeing an interview a long time ago when he said something along the lines of I am glad I never got to see Elvis again when he was fat or have my picture taken with him then so nasty and he called himself a friend

    love and peace,

It;s pathetic that Tom Jones has to talk about Elvis during an interview about himself. If his brief friendship with Elvis, turns out to be something that most interviewers highlight, then, what does it say about his own career?

Elvis liked his singing, and maybe since Elvis didn't spend too much time around him, it blinkered Elvis as to Tom's real character. Elvis was simply the greatest.

I don't really care what Jone's says or thinks. I'm sure 25 years after Tom (WHO?) Jone's has passed, that no re-mix of his will soar to No.1!

    Banged To Rights!

Thank you guys for your support for my thread so far - I do feel that this Welshman, who claims to have been a major part of the Elvis Legend, is definitely banged to rights!

This man is a 'warbler' and people criticize Elvis' movies of the '60's for being cotton candy and cheesey, but has anybody ever seen that US TV Show from the early '80's Jones did with a number of guest stars?....That was total toasted cheese - did u seen his vast array of glittering jackets?...red, blue, yellow - certainly not very macho Thomas!

Oh yes, I reckon he was miming on the show too, and as for the girl dancers - pullleeaasseee!!!!!
